i KNow RGV is a great director... i would have preferred Ajay Devgan as Jai & Akshay kumar as veeru..or Sharukh as jai & Ammir a s veeru,, would ve been right choise,,,, Should go & watc Amithabh & Ramu s direction....
So Mohit Ahlawat has been replaced.Its now a new model Raj who's been cast as Jai.But I think neither Mohit nor Raj are the right choice for Jai's Role,played by Big B in the original Sholay. I think Ajay Devgan would have been the best choice for the silent,intense and brooding Jai.He is the best actor for such roles.As for Veeru,Akshay Kumar would have been the best choice.Also Ajay and Akshay make a great pair of Heroes and are two of the finest Action Heroes ever seen in Hindi/Indian Cinema.But as it is finalised,Ajay is all set to play Veeru.Though not the perfect choice,he can surely do a decent job as he's a versatile actor and can stand up to Big B as Gabbar.Remember Khakee where Ajay Devgan played the villain and stood upto Big B and gave a brilliant performance.Also he has done so many movies with Big B like Major Saab,Hindustan ki Kasam,Hum Kisise Kam Nahin,Khakee,and is not intimidated by Big B.If Big B's movies like Deewar and Trishul are ever made,Ajay is the best actor in today's times to play Big B's roles in those movies.Abhishek would have been best for Jai's role.Ajay as Veeru and Abhishek as Jai would have been a great pair.Even John as Jai would be fine.
What's wrong with RGV why the hell he is hell bent on making remakes that too with inappropriate casting,Ajay devgan as Veeru doesnt make sense to me infact I belive he could play a better Jay than Raj..
Mr.Verma its time to bring something new ,something which excites something out of box like 'Dil Chahta Hai'

RGV forgot that Jai and Veeru have to look like natural friends and not just 2 characters brought together..a 20 something guy cant look natural with a 40 odd Ajay
I think RGV is trying too much. He thinks he can succeed this movie like Satya, or Rangeela.
I think he wants to prove that he can give a hit with underdogs and wants to show that RGV can do a without superstars.
I will agree this approach if he is doing his own films like Satya. But he is remaking a movie which is the best movie ever made in the history of Hindi cinema until now.
Please for original Sholay's sake, change the actors of the movie.
Ramu has gone mad so has Mr Big B. Why the hell they are making the remake. It should be left alone. I can tell, this movie will be a biggest flop of the year as people will compare every character of the film with the original one. You can remake a movie but can not remake one's mind. How can you make it better the original humor of each character.
Ramu, if you really want to remake a movie... than go for Ashoka... sign Om Puri for the lead role. Select people like Nasir saab, Rahguvir Yadav, Anang desai,
People puked at the sight of the "new Don". Wonder what makes people want to relive in the past. If that were really the case just go watch Sholay again and again, until you want to throw up. Why enforce re-mixes on people? Sleazy video re-mixes of golden old hits, remake of old classics, what next?

Wait and watch the movie and if is not good then you guys can criticise. He is not harming anyone by remaking sholay. Is he??

Well..this ruckus wouldn't be there if Ramu was not there in the director's seat...! Leave the cover of the book...We don't expect recycled content from someone of ramu's calibre...! And giving life time charactes to specimens like Mohit Ahlawat and Nisha Kothari who don't have a single acting bone in their body is akin to giving numerous chances to Kaif and Pathan in our cricket team.
IT's going to b a complete disaster,we all know tht,then y does'nt he is aware of this fact??? NAturally everyone will compare it to tht super block buster,atleast the cast should have been upto some measure..imaging Nisha Kothari playing Basanti...haha
