I have seen almost all of his movies. The story and casting used to be perfect. His movies are not larger than life movies, it is very simple and realistic.
He was awesome. His movies are gems to bollywood. No body can beat him ! May God rest his soul in peace.
Hi, I have watched all of Hrishida's films on Doordarshan or Sony TV. I would rank his films "Chupkey Chupkey" and "Choti si Baat" as my favourites. I have seen these movies several times and they still make me laugh.
It is indeed sad to hear about his demise. Even more astonishing is the fact that few from the film industry went to see him or went to Kolkata for his felicitation. It shows how much materialistic and mean people have become these days.
I would love to see Amol Palekar take up the role of making some hilarious movies like "Chooti Si Baat" since he seemed to respect Hrishda the most and I think he would do a great job at it. It would also making Hrishida happy up in heaven.
Dear Mr. Amar(fake Hrishida fan)....

What a load of bs...
You say that you are a great fan and do not even know that 'Choti Si Baat' was not directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee but Basu Chatterjee.
Get your facts straight before writing emails on the internet. People like you write emails just for the sake of writing emails. This way you are insulting not only Hrishikesh Mukherjee, but also the other great director Basu Chatterjee.

Choti si Baat was a Basu Chatterjee film not a Hrishikesh Mukherjee film. Mr. Mukherjee is unboubtedly the best mainstream director Bollywood has seen till date. May his soul rest in peace.
