If Kareena has any sense she should decline the award and request that the award be given to somebody more deserving--somebody like Tabu,who to my mind epitomises the persona of the late Smita Patil perfectly.Tabu is like Smita was, a free thinking splendid artiste who simply gets under the skin of her roles.I saw a still from her new film The Namesake--she seems to be breathing alive the role of the ignored Indian housewife in the US.But she has always been terrific,even in Tamil and Telugu films,the few she has done.Kareena has potential,shown in Omkara.In K3G she screeched and irritated as the smartypants Poo.Let's hope she does a good job in her new author-backed role in ihe yet to be shot Mani Ratnam-Aamir Khan film.It is based on an Ismat Chugtai story called Lajjo;good chance for Kareena to really give an award-worthy performance.
