Copied or whtvr, I loved this album. Woh lamhe has something for all moods and some beautiful melodies to support the well-made songs. I love So Jaoo Main and Kya Mujhe Pyar Hai. Its worth listening to. :-)
There's a jealously followed tradition in Bollywood. If something clicks, a whole lot of clones come up. Woh Lamhe is no different. Just like KANK which is a rehash of KHNH, this one is Gnagster in new bottle! Why Pritam??? Where's the variety? The movie itself seems to be made from the leftover footages of Gangster!
The Bhatts do a very cheeky thing here...Pritam has been credited as composer for 2 tracks - 'Kya mujhe pyar hai' and 'Chal chale', while he is credited as 'music arranged by' for the other tracks barring 'so jaaoon main' which is composed by Roop Kumar Rathod. I'd come back to the arranged by part in a minute.
Kya mujhe pyar hai is one fab track no doubt, but the composing credit rightfully belongs to the Indonesian band, 'Peterpan' who's track 'Tak Bisakah' has been lifted lock, stock and barrel by Pritam with no mention of the source!
With regard to the 'music arranged by' tracks, 'Bin tere' is Jawad's own track and is quite old. 'Tu jo nahin' is by Glenn John dad, Sunny Benjamin John, who, despite his Christian name, was a very popular singer in Karachi. This one's his signature song. The Bhatts have got Jawad and Glenn to sing these tracks but no credit to the original composer!
The Bhatts have been doing this way too often now and I just hope that the Saudi Prnce not only sues these folks (refer to the Ya ali episode!) but also gives them a piece of his mind.
