The mpds are definitely one of the most complexed branch of phsycology.Acting it out is too difficult. Both expressively and physically. The movie might have had errors here and there, but vikram is not to beblamed for that.He was at his best.Award should be given for those last 30 mins ecspecially.
this is completly unfair..MOHANLAL WAS INCREDIBLE AS RAMESHAN NAIR IN THANMATRA, AND HOW HE DIDNT GET THE AWARD IS NOT JUSTIFIABLE, THIS WAS HIS BEST ROLE TILL DATE! its unfair how these stupid, idiotic, discriminating judges get to decide..like last year how saif ali khan got award for hum tum when the award shouldve went for mamooty for his dynamic performance in kaazcha! let me tell you something, malayalam cinema and malayalam actors are muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh betttttter than BOLLYWOOD! i mean look at all the hindi movies that are released, gorgeous costumes, corny songs about love, sex scenes with the leading actors doesnt make a good moovie!!!! i mean think about it, what the hell did amitabh bachan do in black, that was so amazing> he hammed throughout all the movie, and overacted, and his alzheimers didnt look convincing,,i mean the award shouldve went to Rani mukerji because she stole the limelight from bachan with her stellar performance!
all i have to say is that, these somebody should hit these stupid judges with a huge hammer! mohanlal should get the national award and after watching the movie, no one can deny the fact that he was incredible in this film!!!!
Mohanlal in Thanmatra was amazing and as many have pointed out Amitabh was a lil over the top in Black, Anupam Kher also gave a good account in Maine Gandhi...
But if we understand and appreciate that acting has to be natural, it no longer means shouting and theatrics, and it means subtlety and real, then the award should go to Mohanlal. Else we will be taking a step backward and discouraging good movies and good performance.
I would rate Black as an average film where Amitabh Bachan has given a pretty good perfomance bench marked with his former ones. But nowhere do Amitabh comes any where near to Mohanlals performance in Tanmatra and if Amitabh is given an award over Mohanlal for Black , it will be another shame in his career bestowed by our esteemed panel, the first one being when he was given an award for Agneepath. It was always the regional films particularly malayalam and bengali films which has produced great cinemas comparable to great films in world cinema. If an institution such as national awards is demeaned to give awards to populist culture represented by bollywood, good cinema will die its death. You can see what happened with marthi film industry due to bollywood inspite of having been the birth place of most of the landmark theatre movements.I am not belittling some of the great films and actors produced by bollywood but am stating a more generalised case.
The selection for the national award has been wrong. The performance in Tanmatra has gone unnoticed. Bachan has been superb in BLack but it looked like someother disease other than Alzheimers. Years back when Thilakan, another veteran from Malayalam was selected Bachan was given preferrence at the last minute. The worst catastrophe was that the movie was AGnipath where Bachan is shown marching on when an AK47 was pumping thru his chest. At times I feel that these North guys do not know what performance is?? The truth is that when Bachan is ACTING in films, Mohanlal is NATURALISING his role n films.
rani mukherji should have got the best actress award for black.she is a superb actress & acted extremely well in black. it shows that selection was not impartial.it is very unfortunate that she got best actress award everywhere except the national award.
Well, I felt even worse when Mr. Bachchan won his first National Award for Agnipath and Vijayashanthi getting the Best Actress Award. It was like Jackie Chan getting an Oscar for Best Actor for his Police Story Series!! And I remember how the News papers reacted to it then. But then people thought it should be a tribute to the great superstar of Indian Cinema for his sheer screen presence and mass appeal. Even a mass hero like MGR was given a national Award, may be on such a consideration.
But on his second innings, Bachchan has really put in a few good performances considering the number of movies that he does in a year, going by the Number's Rule. I think Amithab deserves this award.
Mohanlal, was any way not going to get it considering last year's winner was Saif Ali Khan. I had a sigh of relief because it was not an other wooden actor of Bollywood!! Amithab is really the best among Bollywood actors.
Black was a movie shot in unrealistic circumstances and in no way could connect to the average Indian. Where is Satyajit ray who made some of the greatest films with a only rags and rain!!! Mr. Bansali is pathetic.
