Liked Preity's slap!!!
by Irene on Aug 21, 2006 04:52 PM

Well, all said and done...the movie is made...and people have watched, will watch...the royalty incomes are out there for everyone who participated in the making.

Take and use something out of the movie...Leave something in the movie!!

The movie was a good making...but it caters to the top-cream class only. Because the middle and bottom crowd (women folks) will never have the guts to leave their husbands who ditched them....they will still continue to live with the fact, moreso, if they are not financially independent. Preity in the movie was pretty independent, hence she had the guts to beef up Shahrukh and slap him...I wish she had slapped him a litle tighter (lol).

Marriage itself is FOR TRUST, FAITH, COMPROMISES, ADJUSTMENTS, ETC. But if the other partner does not value them, only then it makes sense to part ways.

The movie somehow ended in a filmi ishtyle of 'Happy ending'...had it been different, there could have been a message that "if you ditch your partner, not necessary that you will get to live with the other partner"

Cheers and be happily married!

Karan Johar stole the Show.
by Okasha on Aug 21, 2006 09:44 AM

I watched the telecast w/interest re the issue/film under debate. Apart from Karan Johar the rest of the panel came across as quite preachy in their expert opinions. The so-called counsellor was the worst from the lot. People rang her up from the moon itself to gain her expertise on the issue. Karan Johar was the only guest whose views were spot on. I second his take on marriage, unhappy situations and amicable separations. He has matured immensely. Interestingly, Anupam and Karan were both single yet realistic about the concept of marriage in general. The tarot card lady actually advised a battered wife to return home. The book hog herself remarried but advocated against it. Srk endorsed his belief on adjustments via the Nibhana mantra. In conclusion, it seemed that the only way a sane person could end an unhappy marriage was to walk over a dead body literally warna 'stick to it' irresp of whatever. What else can be coined as extra-ordinary circumstances?
The worst moment was the cheesy couple revealing their silver jubiliee secret of holding hands during a fight. Lastly, the host was rude, she interupted her guests and didn't let them complete their sentences.

SRK in KANK
by Nitin on Aug 21, 2006 01:04 AM

With such a high reputation, one needs to be very careful on what he is doing. SRK is an inspiration for many, not only upcoming actors, but also to the audience who learn how to be jolly, caring, loving and understanding from the Rahul in KKHH, DDLJ, Dil to Pagal Hai, KKKG, etc.

Doing such a role might give a wrong message to those who consider him an ideal. Personally speaking as a very big fan of SRK, I find it tough to see him doing such a character.

Confused Duo

Both SRK and KJ are confused individuals. Can somebody give them reality check ASAP, else they will continue to make movies with mindless and endless scripts.

Marriage and Cineworld

If any one in the show business talks about marriage, it is like a prostitute talking about, out of marriage relationship. KANK is purely made to make money.
And the comment saying that constitution of marriage is out of date is so wrong. Indian community is looked at with respect when it comes to marriage lasting longer(may not always be a happy one). We have to fix a few issues like division of labour, men looking down on women and 'ladkiwale' being inferior etc.
Not having any social laws of marriage will be chaotic and who will be responsible for 'lawaris' kids, our functional Government?
