Harrasment common in US & UK
by Antony on Aug 16, 2006 02:03 AM

How often have you heard Demi Moore or Cindy Crawford ... sayin they were harrased...

Its rare for the fear of law catchin up with them...

Whatever be her profession, she does have right over herself and nobody can offend it against her will...

Now why she didn't file case? Partly due to fact she is on short visit, she can't waste time out in US, leavin aside her assignemnets in India

Shameful act that should be condemned...
by Savio on Aug 16, 2006 12:16 AM

If this is indeed true then the people involved should be held responsible. It's shameful that the hosts could stoop so low and behave like this.

But even more appalling are some comments on this board!
Guys, Bipasha is a professional actor and her career choices do not warrant a moral judgment by any of us! She comes across as a rather bold, intelligent and self-assured woman and that may have hurt a few male egos amongst these nouveau rich desis in New Jersey. And this may have led to some irresponsible behavior but that's just my theory

To be harassed or molested by someone who invites you as their special guest is devastating as is, but for the public to justify such action as deserving because of the characters she plays on screen is juvenile! I think she deserves support from us Indians in the US who condemn such action on any woman. Send a strong message that such acts by a few miscreants will not be tolerated by the Indian diaspora in general!

If it is really true then I can say it is a very unpleseant and hate full incident and higher level investigation should be on for this.

I think there is no truth in what bips is alleging. It appears a way to get out of the penalties arising due to contractual breach.

Indians should be treated with respect
by madx on Aug 15, 2006 09:59 PM

the issue should be taken very seriously. we should never allow others to treat us indians in any way that shows sign of the slightest disrespect. the matter should be dealt firmly with. WE INDIANS ARE WID U BIPS.

comments..

It breaks my heart to read some of the comments. Why is it, that everytime a case of harrasment crops up, we point finger at the victim?
Her sense of dressing on-screen does not justify such a serious allegation. Otherwise, all of us here would be sexual predators.

What a shame
by Saurabh Sahai on Aug 15, 2006 09:53 PM

All these years I have nearly seen everyone including myself go ga ga when ever some foreign NRI cousin or friend comes from abroad.

And look at how these NRI's whom we hold in high esteem behave. After assulting a woman they make charges on her that she is was not on time and did not fulfill her obligations on the contract. And the following are the words of their associations president.

Poondi said Bipasha had breached the contract with the Indian Business Association. According to the contract, she was to attend the programmes on time.

"She came two hours late for the programme organised on Saturday night and did not turn up for the parade," Poondi said.

What a nice way to behave with a fellow.

by Neela Panch on Aug 15, 2006 09:41 PM

First of all Shame on those ppl who harrased her. They probably were thinking she is same kind of person in real life too as she plays some characters in movies. So stupid to think that way tho.I think was so nice that she didn\'t compain officialy to police or so.We indians are known to do nasty things if we have oppertunity at first place.Wondering how come she had no body with her to protect her?How about sequirity? She is very wellknown celebrity anyways and she also needs some sequrity for sure.SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME....
