Horrendous movie. I actually fell asleep twice and was woken up by my friends! The statement that you said about the two 'soulmates' seeking each other even though their respective spouses were trying to make it work is absolutely right. Isnt love all about sacrifice and marriage about compromising with one another?? It really was a sad storyline. COmbine with it a pathetic soundtrack, nothing interesting! FInally 3.5hrs......... Oh God help us!! What is he trying to prove?? Ben Hur?? That was a classic!! Lagaan never felt long, this had me checking time every soo often!!
All in all a sad excuse, which unfortunately will be come a hit because of starcast and marketting!! WHen will ppl wake up to realise movies like Omkara are masterpiece while KANK has to be junk in the stinkiest garbage??
If you like this movie, you need to visit a pychologist immediatly.With crap like these, people like k J are pushing the bollywood industry years behind, any way bollywood is always running back in time, when will all these Punjabi farmers stop insulting our sensibilities, its a big joke when these bollywood farmers claim they are as good as hollywood, are the indian movie goers so dumb. Then there are other small producers who are busy lifting ideas from all over the world, even ditto copies of song tunes. stop watching these craps, watch hollywood stuffs, best solution.
I think Karan deserves some lessons on marriage. I don't know why these Johar and Chopra guys mess with the arranged marriage idea .I personally am a great believer in arranged marriage as in my whole family and friend circle everyone has successful arranged marriages(No failed arranged marriage up-to-date for people whom I know).But I know people with failed love-marriages.I don't abandon Love - Marriage.But I support Arranged marriage more. Moreover every marriage has its ups and downs.To justify an extra marital affairs on the basis of your daily misunderstandings is immoral.Because if you can't adjust with one person, then what's the guarunty u are going adjust with the other .May be after some time you get to know some third person whom you like better and you'll continue leaving your present partner for some one else.
Leaving a marriage(arranged/love) is justified only if your spouse is drunkard,abusive,beats you ,threatens you and so on...
cant believe karan made such a trash movie..... he really doesnt know anything about relationships. rani and shahrukh were so boring ... and inspite if all the tears that rani shed, she didnt evoke any sympathy from the audience. And shahrukh was unbearable. Abhishek was the highlight of the movie.... he has truly come a long way. Now karan should just become a producer and let other people make films for him.
movie is not bad it shows u the reality and one may find it difficult to accept it but thats true and karan expressed it beautifully if one understands the movie then he would love it and if u cant then soory u r a looser u end up hating the movie i loved the movie

I'm sorry, but wasnt the movie based on 2 losers trying to get a "soulmate". It was more like the heroine was "trying to get laid" by a bad brooding novel heroes kinda guy as opposed to a cheerful fun loving husband and the hero was another loser "trying to salvage his ego" by getting together with a pathetic teacher instead of a highly successful caring wife. So I would really love to know which category you fall into!
Its a nice movie, Love then Marriage and Marriage lost love its very common People are scared to admit it . Its a fact , Just have to accept than be conservative
This has to be one of the worst movies in last 5 years. 10 of us went to see the movie and none of liked the movie. We expected so much, but were totally disappointed.
He certainly is portraying a wrong message in the movie. The theme was daring, but he certainly fell short of our expectations.
He never explains why Rani did not like Abhi even though he tried so hard and why there was attraction between Rani and Shahrukh.
Only good thing about the movie was Abhishek and Amitabh even though I am a big fan of Shahrukh.
