Review on KANK
by Kaly on Aug 25, 2006 10:17 AM

I don't know what the press or anyone is saying. The story line was interesting, it is about what's happening in the world and the film USP was the affairs that are expressed in the film. It's based in New York and i think that was the best location. Well done Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukherjee, Abishek and Amitabh Bachan. The film was a hit amongst me and my friends (8 of us went to watch it).

KANK Review
by Shilpa on Aug 21, 2006 07:14 PM

As everyone craved to watch KANK on its 1st week of release, the excitement in me was built up to watch the movie. Rediff reviews said otherwise. But i guess it is still human tendency to watch a movie which banks on such heavy star cast irrespective of reviews.
I went and saw the movie. To further to the review of both Raja Sen and Aseem Chhabra, there were some of the scenes the film could well do without. The wedding annivesary scene which both SRK and Rani conviniently celebrate in the same hotel but raise cheers to each other.it really does not seem like they really make any effort to save their marriage. They try wierd scenes like Rani coming with a whip and SRK trying the massage for his wife priety in inexplicable situations! which i wonder was done for comedy or what! The Ballad scene where both Rani and SRK show their affection towards their spouses respectively to make the other one jealous. The height of it is when both Abhishek and Priety celebrate the fact that their marriage is saved, Rani and SRK Enter hotel to make love! The scene was so cheap that it virtually hurt the eye. Finally I cud not understand what makes rani fall for the nagging SRK as priety rightly says!

Moral of the story:-
by vandena sah bal on Aug 21, 2006 02:14 PM

Moral of the story is never be so 'vella' or free all the time that empty mind really becums a devil's workshop!!Look at Preity and Ahishek, they r busy in their careers making money for who else but their FAMILY!!! and here is SRK who meets with an accident and gets totally out of work. Then naturally one would tend to deviate and do wrong things! And Rani! She has got such a lovely husband only their views dont match! These things happen in every couple and get resolved. This movie has shown a really very weak base for an extra marital affair. It has shown an ESCAPIST ATTITUDE of SRK.Either KJ sh have shown Ahishek a good husband but a casanova outside then there would hv been problems. To me everything seemed to be fine(& normal) with both couples and issues that can be EASILY RESOLVED rather than showing a weak affair for which they both r guilty that is y they cry sooooooooooo much and bcoz of them Amitabh dies of shock. This movie lacks moral values, motivation to solve a problem, and to cry all the time coz of guilt that develops in the heart for doing such wonderful things!!

Grow up Indians!
by Desiree on Aug 21, 2006 11:58 AM

Each time a read i review about KANk, i jus want to yell out, "Indians, please grow up". I really fail to understand why people cannot accept this film in the rigth spirit. In my opinion the film is not about NYC, the fashionable wardrobes or about weak people. Each character in the film is unique and wonderful by themself. But when paired with the wrong kind of spouses, end up being the worst. This is a situation that most couples face but are jus too chicken to confess. Because as modern as we may call ourselves Indians are nothing but hypocrites who do eevrything behind closed doors and pretend to live in a perfect world which doesn't exist. So even though i may sound like a traitor to my race, i cant help but feel sorry for people with such narrow-minded notions.

All i can say is hats off to Karan Johar who has the guts to make a film about something that is an unacceptable truth. And i'm sure that all the people who condemn this film are the exact ones who were probably envying Shah Rukh for ending up with the woman he loved.

KANK

KANK is the worst film of SRK as well as KJ.Now they are trying to prove it hit by their well wisher like Taran Adarsh etc. but you don't waste yuor money & time behind it.It is better to watch Ekta kapoor's melodrama packed serials on TV.

kank is good
by Aradhana on Aug 20, 2006 05:12 PM

kKANK is a good movie... i think the story is very realistic. It stresses on the fact that marriage has to rest on a strong foundation. Abhishek's performance was extraordinary, especially in the second half. Rani was good too.
