Bollywoods Mightest Year
by Nilesh Mogal on Aug 03, 2006 11:49 AM

I think amongst actors, Aamir is ahead with two majore hits. I don't understand why Rakesh Roshan givingh false figure's of box-office collections for Krrish. Its Overseas collections are just average, and behind Rang De Basanti and Fanaa, Forget being the biggest grosser.
Amongst Actresses it will between Rani, Preity, Priyanka. Though Kajol has a Fanaa, but i don't think that she is in the CAT race now. Aamir will be the sure shot winner and RDB is the best film with Best music. What has happened to Bollywood? Why so many remakes and sequels?

Excellent analysis
by Sridhar Chari on Aug 01, 2006 05:34 PM

Finally somebody has mustered the courage to analyse the film industry threadbare as it should be. Amidst all the hype is some hardcore number crunching. With the corporatisation of the industry, all the papi jhapis and the big daddys of the underworld can take a break. We are in for interesting times, though im not sure if big films are the only way to go. In the drive to achieve huge scale of revenues, we should not let go of small promising ventures like Being Cyrus. That is the only link that we have to the iconic 70s and 80s with gems like choti si baat, Trikaal and shatranj ke khiladi. There should be room for everybody in the new pecking order. We can do away with a few ageing superstars for people who can really act. Shahrukh and Aishwarya included.

Bollywood's mightiest year?

ofcourse, and this will happen more and more. theres nothing great bollywood directors, producers, script writer or actors are doing. Its all huge populations in cities, towns & no public places like parks, open spaces. What do u do for entertaiment, rush to a Mall or Restaurant or a Movie.
