What does the the Judge trying to Do?
by Sujit on Apr 15, 2006 04:02 AM

Briefly looked at Salman's case. Few questions for Judicial system.

1) What is object of court of law?
Penalize criminal or setting an example?
2) Why should a criminal be penalized?
To correct him or Damage him?
In Salman's case I am sure 5 year is going to damage him. In that case should judge be tried for awarding excessive punishemnt?
Also I am sure tribulation he has undergone considering his stature is enough to correct him.

Finally as far as setting example is concerned there are many other ways than making somebody Scapegoat.
And definitely gudge was in sick state of mind while reding verdict. Because it was his openion not court of law.

Did u forget that Salman had ran over poor people in Bandra? and killed one man? He never got punished for that..just because he is rich and famous..donesnt mean he is above the law...i am happy he went to jail...even if for killing animals....some way or the other this silly brat should be taught a lesson..

Jai Hind!

People's response is Ridiculous
by anujsingla on Apr 14, 2006 08:42 PM

All are equal before the law, be they celebrities or plebians, and it is best that Salman and his defenders face the facts. The actor killed a rare animal protected under the Wildlife Protection Act, which provides for a sentence up to seven years and a fine up to Rs 25,000.

What is shocking is the unexpected and unwarranted response of sections of the film industry, and some others who ought to know better, defending Salman Khan and criticising the court judgment because the guilty is a celebrity. These sections appear to be more outraged at Salman being sentenced than his crime(s); their pointing to the accused in other cases, such as the Jessica Lall murder, getting away is self-serving. The fact that some other criminal was not brought to justice is not acceptable as a point of either law or common sense.

by priyanka on Apr 14, 2006 07:20 PM

In a country where murderers walk scotfree , in a country where trials r delayed for no reason .. in a country where there is no proper judiciary system .. one man was sent to jail bcoz he killed an endangered black buck ..

Oh how are we blinded by our heroes! yogita here gives the most apt example of this.
Miss, he killed an animal belonging to an endangered species. While this may sound not as big a "crime" as killing people, its a crime nonethless, and the criminals must be punished!

And isnt the guy also involved in a hit and run case? There you go, Salman has also killed humans!

And just because some one else is not found guilty in some other case doesnt gives him the immunity to walk free. Theres always a beginning, and if it be Salman, so be it!

And if this man is acquited by the court, there are 100s of poachers who would wish to be acquited as well!

And someone here also has given a really smart arguement of 70% of all people being non vegeterians and thus should also go to jail! Tell me, is killing a chicken, which is perfectly legal, for food the same as killing an endangered chinkara for fun?

Fine
by prasanna on Apr 14, 2006 02:45 PM  | Hide replies

How he came by bail is not a matter but he gone inside is the matter because the 70% of indians are Non-Vegitarian and everboby is killing animals for food the matter if court is taking care of the animals everybody should be arrested and what salman did is fault but he can be warned instead of putting into jail..

I totally agree with Mr. JOse. To me salman is not at all a good actor, he has not done any good thing too in his lige other than killing poor people in the footpath and poaching etc.
He thinks he can do anything and will escape becos he has money. But there is one who see everything ,called God.
I have no idea why people like yogita like him soo much. Shame!!
