In the movie they never cross Brazil, but it is Venezuela. Unfortunately the reviewer got that wrong.

i have seen the movie in DVD here in UK. its a wonderful, classic... a rare genre... beautiful story, cinematography.. worth every penny.. those who have not seen, don't miss it.
just a class apart !!
