What a shocker it has been to send "PAHELI" to the Oscars under Best Foreign Movie category. It could have gone as the BEST DOCUMENTARY rather. BLACK was the deserving film to go for the OSCARS. I think the jury members are just making jokers of themselves and the film industry at large. They have made mockery of the movie buffs all over the country and above all of themselves. Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and Mr. Bhansali are the affected ones in this case and undue regard has been given to Mr. Palekar and Mr. Shahrukh Khan. DISGUSTING!! UNBELIEVABLE!! SHOCKING!!
My Subject itself tells my view. I have not seen all the Movies but I think paheli is one of the gr8 movies. Now we all should wish Good Success for Paheli. "All The Best!!!"
The Jury Board definitely needs better education. There is no surprise why India can not produce a better quality movie leave apart getting into oscar nominations.
Which dumb reporter or should I blame the typist who wrote this report?.. The name of the malayalam movie is Achuvinte Amma and not Achuvante Anna!!! it is a beautiful movie with a good story and touching songs...
then regarding the selection of Paheli.. i've no comments becos movies are seen thru different views.. what one person feels good may not be the same for another.. even the jury in this case had difference of opinions when they are supposed to be best in the industry
I really can't understand how films like Black, Swades, Page 3 can be ignored & "Paheli" gets selected!!! "Black" or even "Swades" would have been better choice!
its is highly unfair that Paheli has been chosen over Black for the oscars..its hightime indians stop catering to the forieghners' opinion about indian ethinicity and give importance to quality over "chamchagiri".Not saying that Paheli in any sense lacks quality.it is a perfect example of aesthetic film making with a blend of commercialism.but who can deny the supremacy of films like Black or even Prineeta for that matter over this nomination.
