True...

Fully back Yash Chopra's claims...Mangal Pandey was just a religious bigot who chose to revolt against the British not for Independance or national honour but the Hindu soldiers refusal to use catridges allegedly made from cow fat...Freedom fighters are inspired by more genuine reasons and not by trivia...Anyway as the British rightly put it...1857 was not the first war of Independance but just plain mutiny by Indian soldiers serving the Empress...

How cheap of Yash Chopra: Mangal Pandey WAS DEFINITELY a Freedom Fighter
by Vijay on Sep 22, 2005 10:22 AM

Yash Chopra is stooping to the lowest levels to defend a film thats insulting a freedom fighter. The British records, the historians, and so many other evidences prove that Mangal Pandey was a freedom fighter. To save their face and masala business, now they are denying the history itself!! Frivolous of Yash Chopra to make such a statement!
What the hell is censor board doing???
Instead, the movie makers and distributors should remove the drinking and prostitute scenes and apologise for playing with the history f such a great freedom fighter.

Hi,
I live in the U.S. and the people in the US watch this film with great curiosity and anxiety that who was Mangal Pandey and saying that MANGAL PANDEY was not a freedom Fighter or a revolutionary means like insulting him because he was the one who started it ,Indeed we should be proud of it.
If still you think that I am wrong then I am sorry for and I apologise but these are my statements.

HARSHAD.
