I have noticed a trend. A lot of readers come and write comments only for the purpose of bashing the review. I mean was there any justification in writing denigrating comments on the review of someone as esteemed as Subhash K. Jha.
Knowing which movie is a remake of whic movie is a bonus and not the all important feature of a good review. In that case my dear review basher, did you know that the movie is an adapatation of JB Priestly play. Now have you done your homework? No!!!!
First of all...why do you always think films made in India (may be in Hindi or whatever), have to have a Hollywood counterpart?? It can be a remake of an old Indian movie, isn't it ?? In this case it is a Bengali film, directed by Hiren Nag.
I guess Mr Jha hasn't seen the Polanski's film which he has mentioned....let alone the Bengali orginal...i.e; 'Thana theke ashchhi'
Bye the way, the film 'Dansh' has a slight resemblence with the Polanski film mentioned here (as both are adapted from the same play, I guess)
The person who reviewed this movie should have done his homework first. This is a remake of the Bengali classic starring UttamKumar (in the role portryaed by Mamooty in this version), "Thana theke Aaschhi".
