Kyonki...
by Poonam on Dec 07, 2005 02:47 PM

I have to agree with misi's comment on Kyonki...I live in Dubai and watch all bollywood movies. Kyon ki..was a disaster. The movie left me wondering how can someone make a stupid and heartless movie like this.
There was no logic in the end of the story. I appreciate the direction but this is what you want to tell people that there is nothing call goodness in the world, there is no hope and nothing can go right. At the end prya...showed the worst possible outcome of all the good intensions of people.
I work in a hospital and let me add that this is not how patients are treated in the hospital he should do a bit more research to see and understand the kind of effort is put into dealing with patients.

Movie makers have a big responsibility on thier shoulders and encouraging passimism and sadness and also telling people whatever efforts you might put into things they WILL GO WRONG....

NO ONE SHOULD MAKE A FILM LIKE THIS AND SPREAD UNHAPPYNESS.....!!!!

Well done Priyan!

Dear Priyadarsan,

You are doing a good innings in Hindi. Eventhough the beginning was not so Muskurat, your films Gardhish, Virasat, Hera Pheri, Hungama, Hulchul & Garam Masala made your position much stronger in Bollywood.

You are rightly said. When all the efforts are gone to waste, we will rethink our strategy. Personally, I liked Kyon Ki very much. It is well executed; eventhough some last minute touching was required.

Out of your films, Doli Sajake Rakhna, Kyon Ki and Yeh Tera Ghar & Yeh Mera Ghar went unnoticed, eventhough they were all good films. Films like Kabhi Na Kabhi, Muskurat etc. might have avoided. Sath Rang Ke Sapne might have been passed the mark if its release been planned properly.

A good producer, A good story, Good star caste, Good advertisement all required for the success of a film. Kyon Ki lacks the publicity very much. But, Garam Masala did a wonderful Job. Ratan Jain knows how to market his films; so is Firas Nadiawala.

Don't take the critics seriously eventhough they can make or break. They are making reviews to the money they got or to the number of audience they can see.

mishi
the worst hindi film
by mishi on Nov 19, 2005 04:13 PM

i am sorry to read director priyadarshans comments on his pathetic take on what he calls a "film from his heart" it is the most depressingly dark irritatingfilm ever made ,which is more like pieces of a puzzle put together in a fashion which is incomprehensible with an overdose of stupid salman khan overacting. theres no coherence in the story ,no flow things spring up from nowhere, characters who react the way they wish to.and if this the director feels is a true version of what happens in mental hospitals,we expect a more serious cinema on what all is the state of affairs than this sorry depiction of what he calls a film .one is left confused struggling to decide whether its a comedy, tragedy, a social film or mere stupidity with kareena kapoor potraying a character one can only feel contempt for,the director stays in the 80s probably where it was difficult to arrange for forms for universities abroad, internet makes them readily available for anyone to download at any time and not only once

Dear Priyan -

I really admired your work in the Malayalam film industry, back in the 80's and 90's when you dared to be different. But your body of work in Bollywood, while commercially successful, is still nothing more than recycled Malayalam hits, "adapted" in a Bollywood setting!

Isnt it time you actually try and create something "new"?? It's unsettling to see someone of your caliber, rely on the age old Bollywood formula of plagiarism. Granted you are copying from your own films but it still is just that - a copy!

Sorry buddy, I just feel you ought to rise above this and show integrity towards your art. After all, isnt that what you set out to do?

Peace...
