I beg to differ on the music. It did not transport me anywhere, neither geographically, nor historically. It was run of the mill. In fact, it was the weakest link in the otherwise very good movie. I wonder which of the songs, had I heard them on radio/CDs, would have told me that this movie/song is set in Rajasthan (forget about the era). Maybe the Ila Aruns & Sapna Awasthis were on a vacation when these guys made the movie & the Rajasthani instruments too costly.
A composer from Punjab will be able to give only so much for a Kerala based movie. Similarly, MM Kreem could only give so much for a movie based in Rajasthan. (the same goes for the actors in the movie).
I am a Delhi guy living in Chennai..the movie produced here are not very lavish but they r made with much passion and the music are foot thumpin plus they dare to follow offbeat themes. Reason south Indian cinema does'nt have many stars but have many gud actors. That means they are not stuck in a mould and they can try new things.SRK is a superstar and so is moulded in the kind of cinema he does coz ppl love it and expect it from him. .. this movie is very different from the kind of movies he does and for that i applaud him for trying something different and new and saving us from assault of same old movies made with hair thin storyline one after another. Ppl will say anything but in the end he is a true entertainer, a fighter, a style icon and India's first real global superstar.
You seem to be quite myopic....the review was of soundtrack of the movie Paheli, not SRK's filmography.
I have heard a couple of tracks from the movie, and I must say they are quite good....and they grow on you.
So sometimes...even if someone like SRK who produces "shit", comes up with something good....learn to appreciate it...rather than dash it off as rubbish.

Hey Max...
that was very unfair of you to say that the music director copied tunes from Telugu. have u even made the effort to listen to the songs ever. I just cant understand why people rubbish other people's creativity.
And this guy Kreem...by the way...happens to be the Music director of movies like Crimina...and Jism...and is very very popular in south india.....for his classical based compositions. he is well adept in both Hindustani and Carnatic music. So next time....widen ur horizons...and then criticise all and sundry.
it seems to be rediff is an official sharukh khan`s website for redchillies home movies promotion.
the songs may be good because this guy by the name kreem had just copied his previous songs in telugu. it seems to be sharukh khan is god for many indian websites. any way i will b thankful & wish best of luck for their diety
