Hi, This is a 220 minute long movie which was slashed rather cruelly to 138 minutes for box office relase. That makes some of the scenes episodic and breaks the narrative not to mention does not develop the character. There have been major historical inaccuracies : Balian if ever was a blacksmith was definatley the third brother (his elder brothers were also defenders of jerusalem like thier father) who was brought out of obscurity by older brother, one of whom married King Baldwin IV the leper 's mother, second was to marry sibylla but fate willed it otherwise, third was Ballial who took over peace faction, the young step mother Maria of Baldwin IV loved and married Ballial the great defendor of Jerusalem who made the peace with Saladin in 1187 and again after third crusade, Ballian came back and concluded a second truce in 1193. Impressed by him, Saladin even made his son the constable of jerusalem, a christian noble in muslim kingdom. Another minor point, Saladin was a kurd general of Seljuk Wazir of Khalifa, he was to find the ayyubid dynasty of governors but his title was never sultan. he was equivalent of General Eisenhower in world war II. regards Pranshu B Saxena
