Karam has nothing new
by Ulhas Shirke on Mar 16, 2005 10:05 PM

It is a tragedy of the Hindi film industry that the film makers cannot find new subjects or something diferent to offer. 'Karam'- the latest released film, has the same old tale of a hero , who is a contract killer and his beloved who is a Bar dancer. And, obviously, there has to be a bad man in the form of a Underworld Don; who is called the Captain. He trties to scare only the heroine, by chopping her finger off. And, finally what is there at the end, is known to all of us. The trio comprising of John Abraham, Priyanka chopra and Bharat Dabholkar could therefore offer very little in absence of poor script.
Now that Sanju Baba has switched over to better roles, perhaps John is the next choice for playing Contract killers' roles. But can Bharat Dabholkar take late amrish Puri's place ? Only time will tell. And, what about Priyanka ? She is not suited to such roles at all. She has better roles to play rather than crying all the time over spilt milk.

Karam has nothing to offer
by Ulhas Shirke on Mar 12, 2005 07:06 PM

It seems that the time is not right for good films to release. Not a single film has tried to win the film lovers for the past few weeks. Much was expected from Karam; but this film too has failed to impress. There is nothing worthwhile, this film could offer. Forget about the story and direction; but, even there is no scope for the artistes to perform. John, the hero of the film is directed more by action director and Priyanka, who is made to shed her tears throughout the film, is a complete waste in her role. The director tried to experiment with the new hero, but hasn't succeeded for want of strong script. It is the same ghisi piti story of a contract killer and his cruel boss. There is his so called wife and a investigating police officer, who is after the contract killer, besides his boss. So, one can imagine the screenplay running with a little more than 140 mimutes.

How can the Producers and distributors of this film expect success on this low budget film ? mere publicity through promos on Tv cannot always win the audience. You have to keep on trying something new. The empty theatres on friday and saturday, speak the truth. Nothing more to be added.

take a class

I think reviewer should take a class on how to write a review. And if you are writing at least take patiance to complete it and not just tell the story. For a start read some other review before start writing one.

John has a revolver with which he can fire like a machine gun.Johns victims die instantly with a bullet or two, while John who is also shot takes time to die.
John jumps with his pregnant wife who had tried to commit suicide, inspite of all the jumps from a tall building and running and trauma, the kid survives.

What nonsence????/
