I couldn't agree more with the reviewer. The movie starts off superbly but post interval the storyline and the handling of certain scences like the chase after abhishek's escape for e.g was childish. Compare with the chase sequence in Shiva (btw RGV first directorial venture) which is so much better.
Amitabh's and Kay kay menon's acting is first rate, unfortunately that cannot be said about Abhishek's who puts on a sour face the whole movie.
BTW, the worst scene was Tanisha's character professing her love to Abhishek. Boy someone should recommend her some acting classes.
Overall a very good review (not the movie). Kudos to the reviewer (Raja Sen). In future I will make it a point to watch all his recommended movies.
From where did rediff catch this chimp named Raja Sen? Aren't there any good reviewers in Rediff? I wonder how rediff can get people with BAD taste of movies as a reviewer. 90% of Indian audience may not be even knowing the original make, 'Godfather'. Then why is this chimp comparing Sarkar with Godfather and trying to hammer the audience that Godfather is best and Sarkar a poor attempt?
I am fan of Mr. Ram gopal verma's i have seen many movie of his but SARKAR it's GREAT and BEST movie of the year. I have seen on first day first show of sarkar it was great experience i like to see it second time also.
Mr. Raja Sen Please stop writting such nonsense reveiws at Rediff.
Mind you Sarkar is one of the best movie of RGV. It is not as compelling as Satya. But still it is a great movie.
I have watched it thrice in four days!!!! Its really awesome. AB is in great form, but Abhishek steals the show. Sarkar heralds the era of Abhishek. Watching every expression of Abhishek in climax is a great experience.
RGV truly deserves the praise for making such a taut and a compelling movie.
I watched Sarkar yesterday and was totally blown away. it is one of the most mind boggling movies ever made in India. Amitabh Bachchan is beyond any adjectives...just flawless. he is the God. kudos to RGV for not bungling under his awe and star power as most directors do. we should be proud to have an actor like Amitabh Bachchan who is no less, if not more, than Marlon Brando or whosoever you can think of. also, with this film Abhishek has proven that if there is anyone who can take his father's place its him and only him. I wish there are more movies written for him with as intense characters.
well...the review has actually almost hit the nail on the head. Sarkar is a potential superb movie wasted. At the same time I feel the same about Black. Although there is a lot of euphoria about both these movies but I think they ould simply not do justice to the calibre of the actors in them and potential the story had. The script in both these movies needed to be tightened much more and they could both have been all time greats!
sarkar sure is a movie worth second watch !!!!! there is no need to compare the movie with the orginal one as this is completely different ,....the dialogue sure is cool and hard hitting along with the camera works . cool job ram .....
