I loved Tabu!
by Rashmi on Jul 16, 2005 08:26 AM

I just saw the movie and Tabu has given a pwerful performance. She doesn't shout and scream like other actors (that includes the oh-so-talented Kajol as well). Her softly-spoken words are a tight slap to her husband (Kay Kay).
Another character that impressed me was Inayat-Tabu'son. Wow...such intensity. I hope this guys gets recognized and does well in Hindi movies.
Overall, the film was average barring the last story. And yes, Jimi shergill has done a good job too. Rahul Bose was just about ok. Ashmit patel looks the part. The girl who played Riya Sen's friend looked downright bad. Riya Sen and Celina Jaitely are there for just eye-candy factor. Divya Dutta looks 35 going on 15.

rahul bose deigns to act in ''non-commercial'' silsiilay
by isac asimov on Jul 06, 2005 12:09 PM

rahul bose ,on countless occassions ridiculed the mainstream hindi(read: bollywood) films ,and insisted he will act only in 'indian english' films. That none of these films dont even get a 'houseful' board on the 1st day 1st show is common knowledge.but he has made a concession and agreed to act in the 'mainstream' silsiilay.now, see the boxoffice fate of this film.hopefully rahul will stick to indianenglish films, and in future might even be able to make a genre out of them.atleast he will have proved he doesnot lack the courage of conviction.

good movie
by bobby on Jun 24, 2005 09:01 PM

i liked the movie and i think most women will be able to relate to it, cos the situations are realistic.good music too.

the reviewer has however done injustice by calling it a 'women's lib' type movie. and i got to agree, divya dutta is super annoying.

its an women oriented movie with bad treatment
by deepak on Jun 21, 2005 12:49 PM

I really want to ask rahul bose who proudly said on "coffee with karan: that i never go for a role which is unrealistic like others sharuk khan and rest...singing love songs with heroines..........

truly speaking khalid just tried to make a movie which reflect the three womens life in different aspects but actually he is not even able to justice with any of them....

womens may like this movie as one try to make a movie on their lives but its neither an entertainer nor an so called OFF-BEAT MOVE.........
ONLY GOOD THING IS MUSIC OF MOVIE THAT IS TOO GOOD......

Khalid
by Madhan on Jun 20, 2005 03:47 PM

I vividly recall those atrociously self-indulgent reviews that Khalid Mohammed (KM)shamelessly used to give for movies in TIMES OF INDIA - now I know what an equally atrocious film- maker he can be!

I wish all those filmmakers who were criticised by KM collectively give reviews of KM's celluloid 'creations' - I thought only KM's reviews sucked big time - his movies suck equally big time as well

Silsilaay movie

Its a boaring movie, too streched. No proper story & lacks proper direction. I suggest watch Parineeta. Its a very good movie with good performances. Its high time Khaladji realise what is proper direction.

this movie is awful. Saw a statement , where riya sens friend say " aisa koi hi mard hoga jo shadi se pehele ladi ke saat nahin soya hoga." I do think that indian culture is not so bad that you can generalize the indian men.I am really dissopinted by this movie.
Better watch parinita..
