Batman Begins is not a regular Batman movie. First & foremost it is the first Batman movie to get it absolutely right. It is directed by Christopher Nolan, the man who gave us intense thrillers like Memento & Insomnia. While both of his previous works were a testimony to absolute human emotions, his Batman is more of a complete entertainer. Although there is nothing much to think about in this movie, there's a lot to look at & enjoy. The atmosphere Nolan created is awfully & overwhelmingly dark. that is one of the several highlights of it. That alone is good enough to set the mood of an average movie goer. i wont say anything about the story because i dont want to be a source for spoilers.In the acting department, Christian bale is a welcome change as compared to the previous Batman heroes.He is definitely someone to watch out for.The details of the scenes & the ambience have been expertly crafted by Nolan.But he fails to bring out the agitated feelings of a tormented person(Batman) as he did in his previous movies. Remember Insomnia? His ability to tap deep into disturbed emotions & eventual redemptions is what made him such a gifted director.Even then its still a superb movie
Your first review on batman on June 21 was absolutely pathetic. While the rest of the reviewers with very less or no exceptions had good words for the movie, this reviewer goes to the extent of given a one word review - ew!!!! Whatever does that mean. And now you make up with another one which tries to undo the harm done by the earlier reviewer. But still it falls short. Did this one copy words from a review elsewhere???? Please try not to dissuade people from seeing movies that are worth seeing!!!!!
I am in U.S.A. and have seen the movie. Don't listen to this review because it is wrong. No offense to Pais but the review is full of crap. The movie is something only those who pay attention to story and the direction of the movie will experience the chills that this movie delivers. See the movie, it is worth the money. This site the the same site that gave an excellent review to a crap movie (Main Hoon Nah)

Hi - Maybe you did not read the first review on Batman .... the first review dismissed the movie as EW ! The first review was full of pseodo-intellectual crap & really down-graded the movie. When the movie started doing well, the first review was replaced with a slightly less critical review. Anyways as per me, "Batman Begins" is one of the best Batman Movies as it has the necessary elements of good story writing & soul mixed with all the action.
ok i know a blog is meant to share ideas but... what do you mean no gloss less thrills? obviously you are either totally unfamiliar with the batman comics or you are too young to say that you have had to sit through the (although very amusing at times as well as entertaining)campy,cirque de soliel wannabe,cheesy and humiliating to the batman, movies made since the late 40's until now or you just don't have a clear understanding of the inner workings of batman. No, it's not glossy, it's not supposed to be. not everything can be flahy like a video game son. i like this movie. it's 10x more believable than the other batman movies and most of the weapons and gadgets could really be used in real life. i mean you don't have to totally escape form reality do you? and the simple fact that joel (look at me i'm gay)schumacher did'nt direct it and mess it up by putting nipples on batman and terying to make batman A homoerotic experience says volumes about the film. this batman is angry, gritty, mean and nasty but, with compassion. the fight scenes are dark and kind of sneak up on you. like a oh i dunno NINJA maybe?
it was a good movie. not a cartoon and it tells THE WHOLE STORY!
I saw the film on saturday , its pretty well made, much better than the previous batman pictures. its got a story for one, actors are also good while in other batman flicks we see a lot of overacting (and underacting)even by good actors. this film is also not raunchy like its predecessors .
But I could not understand why does the actor who plays scarecrow have to be such a sissy? he's got too much of make up on , even lipstick and kajal !
all in all the film does'nt fail to disapoint you in the least . it's paisa vasool.
Pls Don\'t put up your personal coments bout any movie ! Batman begins is a good movie and just because my friends read the reciew on rediff they declred the movie to be bad and not worth watching.. I had to litrally drag my group to see the movie cause i was confident the movie would me good. After seeing the movie my friends also agreed that the movie is not half as bad from what they read from the review. If a certain critic does not like the movie an dtherr many such ppl the movie eventully suffers cause many ppl prefer to read reviews and then go and watch the movie . so pls do not give biased reviews in future. tthe acting was good action was also good and thestory line was quite a surprise from what we were expecting . thanks Manish
This Batman movie creates an intellectual curosity in the minds of those who still have the ability to think in this world. I think it is departure from regular style comic book heros story and forces audiences to think on a level of where is humanity heading towards(few who could do, who come to watch movies in theaters). Movie shows a clash between what we call society as it exists with all its corruption, nepotism, falling moral values, wipe the scums and start a fresh all over again, and Batman who still believes in the goodness of mankind.
This is something which we need to consider, that are we continue to live with our so called adjustments where we allow 'Scums' to rule over us,where avg human life is even worse than animals or do we take radical step like wiping of the dirt and starting all over again.
I think this is the reason why this movie did not fare well nither received fair comments from critics. Cause we have decided to shun anything which forces us to think and apply human mind. Anyway this is for those who still can think and have preserved their intellect.
Movie had abrupt change of scenes, as it weakness but overall a fair work done by the director.
