Ok, next time u read the article first before u jump with your high and mighty remark.
Times made the global list and 5 Indian films made the mark. What rediff is doing is just asking Industry people about what they feel about the hindi fims.
Now, once in a while try crossing Indian border, no one outside India gives damn about kannada, telagu, tamil, gujarati, bengali movies. Punjabi movies get released overseas because of overwhelming Punjabi population. So for rest of the world HINDI MOVIES IS INDIAN MOVIES.
You like it or not, now you can cry and vent all you want as why your regional movie is not on the list or discussed. No ones gives damn because its not worth a pence.
What is he trying to do? after seeing the list, i've this gut feeling that he is trying to please vidhu vinod chopra. i dont think anyone in india will consider munnabhai among the best indian films. Mr. Sarkar you have not seen even the tip of the iceberg.
The Rediff "Top 10 indian movies" has become a publicity platform for either one's upcoming movie or acts as a self promoting platform. People like Subhash Ghai, Mohanlal, Pradeep Sarkar have belittled this venture.I think they should take a leaf out of RGV's book.
I think its quite a narcisstic approach. Imagine no Mughal-e-azam, no Pakeeza, Arth, Sadma etc.but you have Munnabhai, Prineeta and Parinda???? Shocking and making mockery of the Indian Cinema. No doubt Vidhu is a good director but see how his movies loose its plot.... Kareeb...u have a funny lottery scene...Mission Kashmir.... out n out overacting by Jackie.... Parineeta... less of a movie and more of a music melodrama..... Listing Parinda is ok....but Munnabhai???? Parineeta has completed a week today and you never know whether it will remain there in the theatres next week and you list it among the Indian Cinemas all time greats!! Infact a ridiculous and narcisstic approach.....

Ya.I agree to what Jasmine is saying...Rediff should stop taking opinions from a 1 Film old Pradeep Sarkar who hails his producer's(Vidhu Vinod Chopra) film as the greatest. As i have already told self appreciation has become a norm these days.
I guess they are not upto the mark as other Hindi films like Dilwale dulhaniya le jayenge and Hum apke hain kaun have attracted audiences in huge proportion. Recently DDLJ has completed its 500 glorious week. So i think they should also be interested.films should be judged on the merits of what the audiences like to see and not on its classics or novel as they are hardly watched by audiences.
Rediff you seem to have lost the plot...give us a break please...why dont you ask someone who is using the loo at the platform no 1 at VT station during the evening rush hour to give us a list of top 10 movies Iam sure you will even publish that...

munna bhai is one of the best movie i have seen so far. the movie how lightly reflects the problems we face in an hospital and the formalities we need to accomplish before admitting in an hospital. Performance wise SANJAY DUTT is at its best.He really suits the role to the T & SUNIL DUTT is mind blowing the chemistry between the two is a pleasure to watch.HOW CAN WE FORGET JADU KI JHAPKI. Well Done RAJ KUMAR HIRANI for making such a movie.I hope the sequel to it will also be a big hit.
i think its worst list so far. selected bengali films or hindi films. sholay was ok in that list otherwise most r not worth when compared to good cenema in india. adding parineeta made matter most worse.

Well friend, I understand and appreciate your feelings about southern films which are extraordinarily superior to their Hindi contemporaries! However, do disregard Charulata and Seemaboddho in front of Sholay and thrwo them in the list of bad films, is a little far stretched! Don't you think so? Like you just negated Satyajit Ray's best two films....
