Dear Freinds - We are discussing about the film, but let me tell you that the writer of this story Late Saratchandra Chatterjee was a great writer. I have read his novels in Bengali and I will request you people to read the same , they are available in english also and all his novels are with common people and heart touching.
What a natural writer he was, sometime I feel what West bengal was decade ago..west bengal was a state who got so many freedom fighter , writer and so on and now see the status...25 years ruling by CPM destroyed the state.
Our cinemas have really come of age lately. Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the cinematographer, the music director & the singers have done very well. Here is yet another fine example of a movie based on a great story, with fine performances by the lead 3 actors. Sanju has acted well and Saif has matured a lot and this is one of his best performances. Full marks to the new heroine who is mature in her very first film. The mallika's, udita's, meghana's, neha's & payal's please take serious note. Vidya Balan is the type who will really linger in our memories, while you dames are like one night stands!
when i watched this film it reminded me of the seriousness involved in a relation and the trust also involved. hats of to the team of parineeta a lovely and matured film to watch after a long time..... three cheers
its a nice movie, and best story and good cenimatography. the Direstor is canvasing all shots means 80 % in closeup and the color changing also very nice. she ( Balan ) is nice and her "acting with eye" is most beautiful in this Picture. saif did a good job and Sanju too. Kolkata life is originally captured by director and cenimatographer( people wear black framed speck[bengali style] and the Mariage diner also) this type of film should come between horrer and comedy film and for best veiwers and lovers of Indian cenimas.
I never seen such a boring and dumb movie. HOw can one have 3 songs in the first half an hour. BOring to the nth degree. The last part was stupid when everyone was telling Saif to break the wall. Height of stupidity. VInod chopra's movies are always esthetically pleasing with noooo substance. Same old love story with father against it. Everybody's acting looked so fake and put on. The only natural person was Sanjay. Oh God, please save me from the same old crap!!!!!
It\\\'s a nivce n must watch movie. Although it is a bit slow at times but this is the beauty of the film. have resemblences with devdas, but is more authentic then devdas as far as portraying bengali culture is concerned and keeping in the soul of the original. saif\\\'s best movie till date, vidya balan is the girl next door and speaks from her eyes. sanju baba is good and lives his role to perfection. rekha can still let lots of new actresses to think again... overall,woth watching
the film was good. just have 2 complaints... the pasty, too sweet to take smile that vidya balan has throughtout the first half of the movie... and secondly the climax was not as touching and serious as should have been. it fails to reach the audiences' heart.
