Asha is and has always been a better and greater singer than Lata, Usha and many others. If she wants to sing those ghazals which have been sung and already recorded earlier by well known artistes, she is doing no crime. In our Indian classical music tradition, a shagird`s ultimate ideal is his ustaad, and he wants to be able to sing like his ustaad. Through her new album, she is giving us all an opportunity to see how far she succeeds although she herself knows that she can`t sing better!! Therefore, Asha can never think of "taking on" any truly great masters like Ghulam Ali, Noorjehan and others. The "upaj" and "jhoorth foorth" and the "taal"-conscious "alaapi", taan etc. of the truly great Ghulam Ali, are things which Asha better not try to match, unless she sits at his feet for years. As regards the Tabla saath, even if she tries, she will not get it in India unless some less known artistes have quietly gone and become true disciples of the masters in Pakistan. If Asha has fallen a victim to the kongo-pongo-bongo-guitar onslaught, one can only pity her. All will then know that Asha has done this only for making a quick buck and not for true ghazal music.

Its very great to see that someone think like me,
I believe that Ashatai is the most seniour varsatile singer with the same grace and cheerful voice than any other singer in this world.
I dont know why she was being always regarded as a Secondary Singer in india but her Grammy nomination prooves that she is wonderful singer,
In film Lucky, Ashatai and Latadidis songs r recorded,
We can find the Ashatai of 1951 today but Latadidis voice is not at all matching even before 10 years also thats 1995,
Ashatai is a Excellent in classical even in Indipop, & no other singer can match her qualities,
Some people say Sunidhi Chauhan is comparative to Ashatai but she is very poor in front of Ashatais many styles,
Ashatail gives a different style for the different Actresses, and by listening the voice we can guess who is playing on the screen,
Ashatai's Marathi songs r very much excellent,
Kanada o vithalu, Mi maja harapun, Wilopale madhumilanat ya, Rutu Hirava, Bhogale je Dukha tyala, Maziya mana and many more other Natyageets of her father and of her own r very much brillient & prooves the richness & efforts of Ashatai
