Padmashree: an insult to cinema!
by Sujay on Feb 01, 2005 06:19 AM

Hello

You are absolutely right. It's an complete insult to a cinema. I am a movie buff, but never saw a bad movie like this for a long time.

Apt review
by sachin on Feb 01, 2005 01:25 AM

Ronjita's review though sarcastic is very apt. She did the right thing by pointing out the flaws of the movie. She must have gone overboard at certain places in her article, but the message conveyed is loud and clear.

I am a big time movie buff too.. I appreciate the david dhawan's brand of comedy to mani's kind of cinema. And i will still say the following...

10 yr old school kids can put up a better play than what manjrekar and co. did in this movie.

Movie Mad
Padmashree: Hilarious spoof on jewel heist!
by Movie Mad on Jan 30, 2005 06:32 AM

Dear Rongita:
This is in response to your review on "PLPY".I was surprised at the viciousness of the attack.
I went to see the movie to see just how bad it could possibly get and came away pleasantly surprised!
Obviously something or someone rubbed you the wrong way (at the premiere).

This movie is a satire - hardly meant to be taken seriously(Hence the reason why Sharat Saxena is not emotionally overcome at catching Suniel in bed with his lover).

I personally think that this is the first such movie to be made in Bollywood - a complete parody - meant to be taken completely tongue-in-cheek.

Johnny Lever has excelled and Suniel and Masumeh are also very good. Mahesh should probably retire as an actor, though!

There are so many crappy movies being made. This one was a light-hearted and enjoyable piece of fluff...I for one guffawed my way through along with the rest of the audience.

the stupidest movie ever
by anurag on Jan 29, 2005 03:39 PM

the stupidest movie ever.....waste of film roll...well a collection of non-actors...who true to their talent(less)abiltity are very successful in killing the remaining few brain cells in the viewers head.....
EVEN MY CALE WALLAH IS NOT READY TO SHOW THIS MOVIE....its such a waste of time n money....
i think mahesh manjeraker should now stop making movies...because ever since vaastav his movies are increasingly difficult to watch....pathetic attemp to make a movie
