I have never seen such a "BORE"!!!!! and that too coming from a director of the reputation of Subash Ghai. From the begining till the end I could never understand the need for Mr Ghai to make such a blunder. I was waiting for the movie to finish, although I am not very much aware of much of the technical terms but all inclusive (script, screenplay, etc) was substandard.
Hello All.It looks like Rediff is the only website on planet which insist Kisna is not only must watch but like also excellent like The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Wowits really strange.
stangely the review writer has pointed out the same characteristics i noted. but the inference is completely different. i feel the given characteristics leave no room for the film to be termed worth a watch. anyway media people have a lot more objectives other than spreading news. i have none.
i understand that movie making is hardwork. if the scale is that of kisna, its extra ordinary hardwork. i entered the hall with tremendous excitement. somehow i could not like the movie. the protagonist is too unintresting and pre programmed. but the lead actress is surprise package, she rules, i was expecting some showpiece after rog.
the film started off well, though inspirations are too obvious. the period was meticulously recreated but the movie quickly lost the steam. by the time movie was over, i was totally detached. when i left the hall i gave the maker benefit of the fact that my expectations were too huge. but now sitting alone and thinking back, i see more and more holes. it was a great deal of harwork wasted.
Visual splendour - majestic conceded, Real Indian look - conceded, Superb dancing contortions - conceded, but a film is about moments and through all this one has very few of them when one feels - Oh! what a movie or simply put looses himself in the film, in imaginations.
Kisna could have been a far better film if the number of songs have been reduced. With such a large number of songs the first half seemed like a number of videos played in succession. The story was fantastic. But it lost its reality when milk was served in glasses made of glass, when a woman of a middle class family of a village in 1947 says " INDIA " instead of Bharat to her country, when a middle class family of a village owns a motorbike in the era when people even haven't seen a bicycle. These are some logical faults of the many in this film which Indian diresctors and producers have to learn to avoid now. It's high time now, we are becoming technically advanced country . These things have to be kept in mind. Antonia Bernath is damn beautifull . Her acting was also marvelous. All praises for Antonia Bernath . Vivek Oberoi has also performed well. But the poor lady Isha Sharvani ,she must have got ache in her foot while shooting. She hardly stood straight in the whole film ; never really allowed to act in the movie. It was a movie which could have been made a "Great Movie" of the callibre of "Lord Of The Rings" but will end up just as one another success at Box Office
