Zana Briski, you can try for next Oscar and get one of sure if you just make a documentary (or more of it) about the British Royal Family.

Its have always been easy to crtisize anybody for anything. We have all have been knowing the reality, but just kept our mouths shut and whenever it opens, its just to lampoon others. The fact shown for India may be true for many other countries across the world, but nobody dared give it a platform to make it a matter of concern for the masses.Hats off to Briski and her friend that atleast they made an effort, took an initiative for the most ignored.

Shame shame
by saunskruti on Mar 02, 2005 07:26 AM

Its a shame that our media is basking in the glory of a British film just because it is set in India. And even the setting of the documentary film is something to be humiliated about. Its time we start facing reality and confront out problems instead of hankering for international attention.

Its the usual. You show the poverty and all the crap happening in India and you win an Oscar. Thats the bottom line!!
