Harmony on the net
by sashi on Sep 04, 2005 02:27 PM

Rediff u Have to start thinking now. It's not only tamil/Malayalam in south, but there are also other
languages like Kannada and Telugu too. Yhis perception of getting biased to only specific languages hurt other linguistic people. Since india
as a country is one I donot understand why people are fighting. Its the duty of the Rediff to cover other languages too. Its not too late to correct ones mistake and bring harmony in the net.

Friends.. Take it easy.. Fortunately, the guy takes care of this "Souther Spice" might be a Tamilian or Keralite. If he was Andhrite, might have covered lotz of Telugu, and neglected others.

God bless India...

cheers,
Murugesh

Vinod,

I think you are not aware of fact that telugu is the most spoken and sweetest language among all regional languages better known as Italian of East .

Subrahmanyam Bharti well known Tamilian once said that if a song has to be composed it should be in Telugu to get that sweetness.

Mr.Vinod, for every one their mother tongue appears to be unique and beautiful. There is absolutely no wrong in loving their language movies. But at the same time it does not mean that other language movies are weak and stupid. How foolish and silly of it to state like "without Tamil there is no south Indian language". ~20 crores of people in South India are living with out bothering about Tamil Language. come to another point you told "and moreover Tamil cinedom is a world standard one". I think you are under assumption that only TAMILNADU is there on this EARTH. Tamil Filmdom is in its own standards. Movies which might be appealing to Tamils might bore others to the core.
One cannot ignore the achievements of Telugu and Kannada film industry. You are sitting in your own well of Tamil. Be mature enough to come out that well and try look in to other parts of the world too. Every one wants and expects their own space in sites like rediff, but it stinks in this section. Rediff Management should consider renaming south-spice to Tamil-spice. Last but not least I appreciate your love towards your language and pity your attitude.

Tamil is not synonymous to south
by saikiran on Mar 04, 2005 02:32 PM

I'm surprised to see that you are showing reviews of only Tamil/Malayalam movies in the name of southern spice. Telugu film industry is more bigger and has more market than tamil films in india and abroad. why are telugu films not figuring in your reviews ???

Pooooornima's poor sight
by Chinna on Mar 01, 2005 02:38 PM  | Hide replies

Poornima,

I know that you donot want to ink down on the other half of South India and its moviedom. But just your fanatic thought can not seperate us and viceversa.

You are in a profession where you need to keep your biases aside. This is a piece of advice I can give with my broad minded version.

You are in a deep trouble of narrowism and bigotry.

Try cover the film news of all languages spanning in South India.. incase the mantle given to you is as a correspondent to represent South Indian movie.

Just respect the professional ethics.

I just want to highlight this to Telugu and Kannda film lovers. Just refer the history of Southern spice archival, just see if you can find articles on any other (Telugu or Kannada)films except Tamil/malayalam movie. This clearlysays the bigoted mindset of Shobhas,Poornimas..

I am shameful of Rediff's recruitment for their poor taste of selecting narrow minded correspondents and not looking at their activities.

Bye
Chinna

South!!
by Sheshadri on Feb 24, 2005 01:25 PM  | Hide replies

It seems that, for the writer South means only Tamil, written only about Tamil and their actors how you can call that South, you have to Call it as TamilNadu.

This article is at the maximum degrees of Tamil madness.
