Letterman wasn't confused when Rai asked him the question ""How did you get into doing this?"". In fact, he gave the audience a chance to laugh and then promptly slipped in a funny one saying "one day, the other guy was sick....".
Ash was embarrasing, except for some pre planned comments. She is dumb. Not denying that she was beautiful, but she really is embarrasing.
It is true that many Americans do not know much about the rest of the world, unfortunately that trend is going to be more, not less with Church's influence on early education also. One of my colleagues, an MD, Ph.D. a Professor here did not hear about the calamities of Kashmir, until I gave the rediff article of Lalit Kaul a couple of days ago. One can imagine the state of mind of a common American. As far as Aiswarya is concerned, I was disappointed. While most Americans may not know about other parts of the world, they are extremely kind and generous people willing to share their wealth with the weakest in the world and are eager to learn if only media give theme the opportunity. Aiswarya was ok, but appeared more Western than any Westerner-She did not represent India, neither in her appearance or in her interview. She did not live up to the hype Letterman gave her. I think ash did fine with letterman but she should stop rolling her eyes and do more talking.we do expect a mature behaviour from a star of her calibre.
