The Article Favored Aadesh.S
by Tania Lopez on Sep 23, 2005 01:06 PM

The article itself is written in favor of Aadsh.I don't find any single word supporting Ismail Darber.I have watched that particular episode of Saregamapa where that Assami girl(accoding to Jatin-lalit, the vikhari larki)performed. The fight took place only becoz' of aadesh. What Aadesh commented was that he could not enjoy the classical song of Joyita becoz' she lacked the quality of cinematic style of singing. When the turn came to Ismail, he said that as he mostly composes classical music in cinema,in that respect he liked Joyita's perfomance.Adesh for no good reason lost his temper and began to bark over it. Consequently, Ismail too got angry which is quite natural for any human being. That day Aadesh himself was in hot temper which was very much noticiable. Probably, he was afraid that Irfan's performance would steal the green card and, Ismail was about to move ahead of Aadesh. I must mention that aadesh had already behind Ismail by loosing Hema Bindu in the previous episode.
I conclusion, I must ask the audience that when JL make cruel and harsh comment on the participants, and become mean with Himesh no body bothers to object, but when it is related to Darber its a storm!

Hats off to Ismail Darmar
by Rahul on Sep 20, 2005 10:38 AM

After watching the current episode of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa , I was really very disappointed to see Aadesh Srivastava shouting at Ismail Darbar . It is his personal decision that Joyita (Singer from Assam) is not having the voice required for playback singer. And when Ismail Darbar was telling his views ,he interrupted in between without any reason. Moreover in each and every episode we see that Aadesh always tries to humiliate Ismail and his group members in one or the other way . Like in one of the show he used the word Bombay ki shaan patti seekh li for one of the contestants from Ismail's gharana. I think Ismail needs a great round of applause for training his students in such a great manner and other music directors are having a feeling of insecurity for their gharanas. Ismail always gives genuine comments .And in that particular episode where Aadesh yelled at him, he was praining the song sung by one of the contestants Joyita from Assam.

SaReGaMaPa Challenge 2005
by Sheel on Sep 02, 2005 09:00 PM

I regularly watch Sa Re Ga Ma Pa challenge 2005I was genuinely disappointed by todays results (serial telecast on 2nd Sep). When Ahijit was given a second chance (yellow card) in the earlier episode, which clearly means that he was not to the mark, then on what basic could they give Abhijit a green card for his worst performance on that day amongst the three and decide a tie between the remaining 2 participants who were much better than Abhijit..I truly agree with Ismail Darbars comment that Karan should be out of this tiebecause his performance was indeed best.
Again I am not too impressed with the judges who firstly made a wrong decision by blindly giving a green card to Abhijit for his worst performance on that particular day and then left the judgment on to the mentors to take a decision. The judges are proficient in their fields and should be able to decideTruly a disappointing episode...not to the level of sa re ga ma pa challenge 2005

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 / Ismail Darbar stands nowhere in front of Aadesh Srivastava.
by vivek on Sep 01, 2005 10:21 PM  | Hide replies

may be ismail darbar feels he is agreat classical maestro , but let me tell you he doesnt have the variety and the variation that aadesh can produce in his music. if you listen to aadesh srivastava's compositions, they range from classical based songs to foot tapping numbers as well as melodious soft versions. and who can forget his punjabi top hits .. 'shava shava' and 'ek punjaaban' to name a few. the beauty with which he has used amitabh bachchan's voice in bahgban is worth applausing.

any day i would prefer a composer like aadesh to people like darbar, who think themselves to be kings just by bragging about classical knowledge. we are not here to here ragas and classical music, we want to listen to good music which ranges from classical to latest dance numbers.

ye apne most of the friends ka view hai .. baaki to sab .." JAI HO" ...

Mr. Jha, Normally I eagerly look forward to ur columns firstly since they can be relied upon and secondly u give a different take on the situations. So when I read this column of yours i very badly wanted to see the episode (we get it a week late here in kuwait).
At the outset i would like to say that though i am no die hard fan of ismail durbar, this time u were wrong. It almost looks like somebody fed u with this gossip and u filed the report it in without verifying yourself. It was Jatin who made a derogatory comment on the assamese girl ('mujrewali'), and they apologised at the end.
Durbar is strict with his students yes, but his comments were definitely not insulting.
Also Shiv-hari praised the camaraderie of the composers so 'what fight' are u talking about?

Drop Ismail Durbar
by The Voice of Kashmir on Aug 28, 2005 01:46 PM

Elements like Ismail Durbar are sowing the seeds of mistrust and disunity among Indian people, his rude targetting of North Eastern people is unacceptable,Who does he think he is shouting with his war cries.

Why is a arrogant person like him representing a show which tends to unite people in threads of music

I agree with aadesh
by Midhun on Aug 23, 2005 08:28 PM

Somebody put that Durbar in his place! i liked his music in HDDCS but that, frankly, is his only claim to fame. And to think that, having achieved only so much, he has the nerve to challenge and ridicule such great musicians and composers, including the maestro, A.R. Rahman (after 'Kisna' was released). Just the 2 songs that rahman composed for that movie oozed class as compared to durbar's re-hashed,(& ofcos, re-trashed) tunes. the average music lover will spot the similiarity in his tunes and orchestrations. so, please, it might be true that u r talented, but for heaven's sake, wait for others to point it out to you. and oh yes, a tinge of modesty and humility never did anyone any harm. i remember this guy saying that rahman was famous bcos of his foreign projects. well, if you r soooo great, how come none of those guys have approached you for your 'unique' brand of music, pal? man, get a life and just for the record, in case you haven't noticed, you are a pathetic loser when it comes to your attitude. way to go, aadesh, he deserves that and more!!!!!!

war of weaklings!
by mohammad vazeeruddin on Aug 23, 2005 07:30 PM

I have had the mortification of watching a few of the episodes of "saregamapa challenge 2005",including the one in which jatin lalit and reshamiya fought like fishwives.Unfortunately, however, I missed the episode that jha talks about. Not that I would have enjoyed it any more than I did that showing the fight mentioned above. The fact of the matter is that the "magical mentors", no less than the contestants, came through as weaklings trying to make the grade.Frankly, I find
little to choose between adesh and durbar, or any two of the five judges trying to discover future playback singers for the film industry. If each of them has provided good music for one film or two films, that would be regarded as a flash in the pan when one considers how insipid their musical score has been in other films. I wonder if I am the only viewer to have stopped watching the programme. It is indeed vapid in the extreme.

Throw Out Ismail from the Show
by Amarendu on Aug 23, 2005 06:35 PM  | Hide replies

Ismail Durbar should be banned from the show. This guy is just playing his attitude, and in some way or the other showing dis-respect not only to the participants, but also to the judges. His comment "dekh lenge jinhone tujhe out kiya hai" (indicating Alka and jagjit Singh) to his student just shows that he is not an artiste at all. I feel that some way or the other he is playing his attitude to get judgements in favor of him.

On the other hand, jatin-Lalit has been so supportive to contestents even from other group. Others must emulate their behavior.

Ismail's fall is imminent.

yes, he says like that, but why only go by words, why can't u see the spirit in which he says, he says in fun and not seriosly so that u r pointing fingures like that.
can't u differentiate between the two? darbar ji has also always stood by everyone, he was never partial, he appreciated good singing even if it was not his gharana.

how about throwing HR out of the show. i believe ismail darber is only one genuine guy on the show, otherwise he would not have praised himani and vinit. moreover ismail never discourage other participants though other mentors may speak any stupid words to his participants and may even not give marks to his participants strategically.
