People say Taal was good, I think Taal sucked so bad, its the same old story over and over the only thing good about the movie was the songs. I loved Kisna, It was kuch hatke and was very beautiful and best movie after veer-zaara.What was wrong with Kisna?songs were good the story was good, even the english actress was far better than the indian one.The Flaw in the movie was too much of rope dancing.
Dear Mr. Subhash ghai I am amazed u dont think u have made a trash. You must be out of ur senses to think that kisna was not a trash. It was a trash unless, u can think of a worse word to describe it.
Totally agree with you my friend. Ghai is synonymous with trash if you consider his work in Yaadein, Kisna. Taal probably had shades of his deterioration. How dumb of him to say what he did about trash doing well! Any jackass knows that no producer could refuse/be unhappy abt revenue out of anything he makes!
Nice to know that Mr. Ghai was hurt by the failure of "Kisna". Now all he has to do is to stop making movies. He is well past his time. Come to think of it, even during his "prime" ,he made absolute trash. "Saudagar", "Ram Lakhan", "Pardes", "Taal" ... all brain twisters! Except for the musical part of his movies, in every other department they suck! Its nice to know that new directors are coming out of the shadow and making half decent movies. Hopefully the old directors like Gulzar, Nihalani and benegal start to make good mainstream movies and show bollywood the way.
Not that Taal was a bad movie but Mr.Ghai seems to think that his stamp of approval needs to be from white people and that "Desis" can swallow any trash and cannot discern between Ghai's so called classics and the trash generated by others. Height of arrogance, heights of denial. 98% of movies coming out of Hollywood, Bollywood, Tollywood, Sandalwood are trash, and the results can be seen in the failure of hundreds of movies in the past few years. The writing is on the wall, Indian movie producers. You can indulge in all the casting couch practices, you can add item numbers and you can make a movie "with a lot of good songs" but if you dont soon take Indian movies more towards realities of 21st century, there will be more Kisnas and Waqts and what not.
His movies are filled with directional flaws (remember, how Akshay starres at the snap he clicked of Aish while he is holding her from falling down? When he starres at the snap on his computer, the snap is displayed as if it was taken from 10 metres frim the side. Wondering, if Akshay's hand was that loooong). His movies are a little ok, may be better than David Dhavan, but this is the age of Ram Gopal, Farhan, Meghna Gulzar, Mani Ratnams.
Taal is the only good film made by Subhash Ghai. After watchiing the pathetically amatuerish and badly made movie, Kisna, I really wonder whether Taal was made by Ghai or somebody else ghost directed it for him. It was a pain to even sit through 3.5 hrs of Kisna.
