I am tired of seeing all this hype about Amitabh Bachchan. He is just an above average actor with some charisma. However, Indian journalists portray him to be some sort of larger than life character. It is time to tone down on the hype. One should accept the fact that Amitabh Bachchan cannot in anyway be compared to acting greats such as Robert de Niro, Dustin Hoffman and Humphrey Bogart. So, let the Indian media be more realistic when writing about this actor.

Dear AN,
You seem to be quite obsessed by Hollywood films, or is it something to prove yourself 'different'? Anyway, you are entitled to your views but don't ask others to join your 'high dreams'. It is true that Amitabh has larger than life personality. Everything is judged by the time, environment, and it's context. I am sorry to say that with this kind of view you will stand all alone in this more than 1 billion country and many more outside this country.
I agree completely with the previous posters' contention that the title of the story is in bad taste - taken out of context, it could easily plant seeds of misunderstanding on an impressionable mind, and end up tainting both the Big B and Akshay's character in the minds of a sensitive reader.
Please ask your writers to exercise more discretion with their phrasing - "the pen is mightier than the sword" is not merely an empty saying, you know.
On the whole, I really admire most of your writers, so so I hope you'll take this criticism in the spirit it was offered.
When you give a title to a news item, it is meant to say what is there in the news item. The title to this was in bad taste... quoting from what is there in the article BigB seems to have said "bit of a shrewd rascal".
If you claim to be providing news then little bit of knowledge of language & commonsense would be enough to say the difference between "Akshay's a shrewd rascal" and "he's a bit of a shrewd rascal"...
The title to this article is there only to attract "clicks"... nothing else...
You can take this comment of mine positively and accept the fact that jouranislts add their own spice to stories and headlines to get more attention.... OR You can choose to ignore ... saying ... "Oh well.. he is just another ardent BigB fan... couldnt accept reality."
The truth is loud and clear... the tone of the statement has given a different meaning to it...
Saying the facts as they are is difficult... its even more difficult to resist the temtation to modify things so as to make it more attractive...

You are indeed so right. What kind of journalism and editing is this.Ridiculous.No wonder some actors are so anti-journalist/sm.They just misinterpret and misrepresent the whole thing. Some irresponsible bunch!High time someone starts taking responsibilities for such silly acts and mend it properly.
What is this? Just to get clicks on the page, misguiding titles are given to an article. What a hopeless attitude. One must really wonder if Big B really gave his words to the king(the reporter). No wonder you are behing indiatimes.com in that field to misguide.
