Stopping the sale of Drug is possible since DRUG is used without others knowledge, but here the Whole family watches, a group of friends will do... likewise, so this disease can't be erradicated......
The film industry's resolve to fight piracy is with good intentions. But they should acknowledge that MP3 music format is here to stay. The only norm is that the Music Companies must bring out the popular songs in MP3 CD format at a reasonable price. T-Series (Super Cassettes Ltd.) started this for the first time in 2001 and people were too happy to buy it as it contained more 50 songs from films whose audio rights they had acquired.
These are the guys who get involved in messes like drugs , alcohol and illegal hunting of wild animals. Why should they be bothered about this mess?? because it bothers their bottom line!! spoken like a true businessman !! and I think we will overtake Hollywood but as the article says only through sheer size. For the kind of crap they dole out we should be allowed to enter theatres for free. Nobody thinks about our money getting wasted.
What bollywood is doing about increasing plagiarism in Bollywood...out of 800 movie's produced in a year more than half are C grade movies and other rest are 'inspired'(read 'shamelessly copied' from hollywood) merely 1% are original in concept and script!
Amit ji is right that If you make a good movie even after seeing it on dvd... mass will go to cinema not only once but again and again..
Before Bollywood starts fighting piracy, they should first stop copying every single hollywood movie and every song from the rest of the world. These hypocrites, they have the audacity to come and say that they are fighting piracy. Before they copy hollywood movies are they following any rules. Mr. Bachchan before talking about piracy and boasting about the fact that Indian film industry produces four times more than hollywood movies should first be aware of the fact that 99.99% of bollywood movies are copy of hollywood movies and a blatant copy. Mr. Bachchan also boasts about the so-called era of experimentation. This is ridiculous. This so-called era of experimentation is only about experimenting sex scenes on the screen and literally copying every single movie from hollywood. The so-called new themes they are trying is not their theme. It is very unfortunate that somebody of his stature is uttering such a stupid statement. He acts in stupid movies like Hum Kaun Hai, scene to scene copy from Hollywood movie nicole kidman starrer Others. How pathetic and sad that in this time and age when they can really experiment with new themes, they decided to take the easy way out(COPY).
Hi All I am against piracy for sure. But these bollywood people never talk abt issues, where they raise the ticket price in the cinema hall as soon as the movie is a hit. Morever after making 800 movies is anybody thinking abt the standard of movies we are making for audience. I would support piracy untill others issues are bought under control.
According to me the first thing you guys should bother about is making good movies. I do not know if it is over confidence or lack of feedback from common people that people keep making the same crappy movies. And what experimentation is Amitabh talking about? Experimentaion is very little and is hardly backed with entreprenerial encouragement. Apart from small quarters like RAm Gopal Varma, Aamir Khan and few others i would say 90% of popular cinema flops due to poor skills and poor information. There is very little experimentation with regards to subject matter. In an industry where almost 90% films flop i cannot understand how people can be so scared of movies flopping - would think it commonplace and rather go out n do somethign different. But all you see is people trying to save their investments with the "me too" philosophy. Everyone tries duplicating hit films. After the audience is not a fool. Entertainment industry is extremely unprofessional and far from their corporate counterparts - i don't think entertainment companies (popular films mainly) resort to research or other modern management n marketing techniques.
