Forget the tone of the reviewer. He thinks 3/6 songs are passable and then he calls the same album touching and even mentions shahrukh etc. This is such crap. Get someone else to review the album please.
Swades music and songs got good reviews. However the songs in my view are no match to the gems that were in Lagaan. Slow songs can be touching as in Veer Zaara but the slow songs in Swades put me to sleep at times. Anyways everyone has different tastes and different ears and who knows , what I may not like, others may find likeable. Sure the lyrics are good but somehow the coordination found in Lagaan is lacking.
If I want to get noticed, I have to flow against the water. Then only people will notice me. SImilarly if I have to be believable as a music reviewer, I have to pretend to be a well knowledgable man in music and bash the only few remaining original music directors in India. THIS IS DUMB. I understand, its your review and you have written whats in your mind. But you are writing for Rediff, a well known website. So when you do write a review atleast have the minimum courtsy to listen to the songs atleast five times, before writing the review. You will have to eat your words. Trust me... Any song in Swades is NOT passable. All of them are amazing, especially Yeh Jo des, Ek tara and Aahista. I will pray to Allah to give you the boon of wisdom, even though its kinda late..
I am surprised the way this reviewer ridicules the creative genius behind the music of swades just by few scribbled statements. I doubt the reviewer does even have an ear for music, is he worth a reviewer? Every Indian music lover knows that rahmaan's music grows on u on repeated listenings. It's like a magic, u discover unlimited fine layers in his music each time u listen.U will appreciate and gradually u adore this musical genius after each listening. And swades is a true rahmaan album. I sincerely advice the reviewer to first get his basics right before harshly commenting on the labor of love of a musical genius.
I was expecting to see Music review of Swades on REdiff since the time of its release. I hoped whenever it will come it will be good one. But the review is surprisingly pedastrian and shows lack of any knowledge of music on the reviewer's side. You may not like A R Rahman's music form the word go but slowly and steadily it grows on you. And Swades is the perfect example. "Ahista Ahista" and "Sanwaria" are very sweet and "Dekho Na" is immensely hummable and I wonder how can you not love "Yeh tara" after hearing to kid's voices. Swades is a gem of an album. If you don't have the talent to judge such things, kindly don't.
Pls THis is the Worst review i have seen in yrs together(i think the worst)not b'coz it tells the songs are bad or something but the content is so unprofessional and third rated ,no logic behind why the song is not good or good ,secondly its a world known fact that it ia almost impossible to judge a ARR Song on the first hearing. The problem is comparisons , the reviwer thinks it is not better than Lagaan (ok) but if the songs were like LAgaan then the reviewer wouldhave said it is stereotype.Pls let the music grow then review it.Pls Avoid reviews like this. prashanth
It seems whenever it comes to class music, rediff critics has something else to say. No wonder you are looking for people for hiring. Be assured you need to throw some more out or else you did be out of business.
With all due regards to Syed Firdaus or watever his name is. You can only say good music to Anu Malik who copies from every available place. come on i dont want to write anymore crap.
