Pal Pal hao bhari very unlike Rehman, seems like its a lifted tune. Also one piece in between is a direct lift from Rehmans own O Paalanhaare But the final product has been sung amazingly well. Madhushree is a total revelation. Side B according to me, first song is passable. The next two Instrumental pieces are as beautiful as the original songs. Sanwariya Sanwariya What should I say. Actually, I think I am a bit biased towards Alka Yagnik. Her voice seems to get better by the day. Though, one complaint is the high proportion of blown air this time. Nevertheless, another song that grows. Emotions have been woven very well. Yun Hi chala chal Rahi as other reviews have already said, is the perfect Rehman song. It has the total Rehman feel and stamp on it. Trust Rehman to use unusual voices like Kailash Kher so well. Udit Narayan lends strong support. Overall Swadesh is a MUST BUY Go grab it By the way All the CDs in Music world were over in a few hours I am told. I had to do with the cassette first. After listening to this album in my car on my way back home, I drove back to another outlet and bought the CD :-)
If this website has a dearth of people with right musical knowledge, fine. Then do not review musical albums. That is better than allowing amateurs without any spec of Musical knowledge, to criticize fine albums. The Music of Swadesh, though quite similar to Lagaan, is simply beautiful. It is in fact in some ways even better than Veer Zaara(Though that album has a feel of its own). Yeh Tara is no passable song, the freshness induced by Udit Narayan is amazing. Also the voices of the young artistes brings out the required rustic mood to enthuse anybody. Very Smart of Rehman, as usual ! Aahista Aahista, is the regular Lorie kind of a song , with mellifluent voices of Udit and Sadhana. It might sound slow at first, but believe me it grows and refuses to get out my mind now. I call it the Ear Worm song. Yeh jo des hai tera, I never knew Rehman had improved so much at his singing. Its, just in one word, Awesome. I am sure this song will bring tears in the eyes of people who have settled abroad. Simple but beautiful lyrics. Hats off to Rehman. Try controlling yourself from rewinding and listening to this song ! Very intellegent use of Shehnnai in this song. The Shehnai ampl

Pal Pal hai Bhari is definitely not a 'lifted song'. The only reason that u feel its a lifted one is bcoz both these songs are based on the same classical raag i.e. Bhimpalaas. So, obviously there will some similarity in the notations of the songs.

i totally agree with u dude.... i think that the reviewers i n the rediff music dept are fools...not knowing how to reviw or appreciate a beautiful peice of music is one thing ... being downright idiotic and irresponsible is another...come to think of it that manypeopke would buy or not an album based on ur review....u still have the audacity to keep reviewers who nothing more for u than just save that space on ur site ( ha!!! ) but give away ur reputation in return !!!Please accept me as a reviewer instead who knows music in india and the way it works ... and i challenge that u at the site will see that after my review of the music of SWADES u will know what i mean...and people will talk more of my review on each of the message posts... Thank you.
Wat funny was not the issue, but his comments, yeh taara was passable, Aahista is not good enough....godsake give us a reak, only your correspondent seems not to liek this gem of albums, either he doesnt have knowledge fo sounds or he is full blown all throttle hater of Rahman's popularity.
i know you might cross me as a VIBRANT,VIOLENT,ARR's fan, but, if you doubt my opinion, pls cruise thro' the internet and see wat is the review of SWADES music by other ppl.
Try to fix some better article, before more ppl get to read your trash and pound you with emails.
Rahman continues his recycling ..Dekho na is the same as a song in the Tamil movie Baba starring Rajnikant.. I always thought he recycled songs that were unsuccessful in one language into another...
Its just that the songs are complex and take some time to grow on you. so if u listen to them 3 to 4 times you will love them. it seems this review was written in a great hurry. i hope rediff does take care of such things cause the music of swades is not as bad as it is mentioned here. i think everyone must listen to it, it is great. Rahman has done great job.
