Today only I saw Shwas. Its a brilliant movie. I believe stonrgly that we can bag oscar this time. Now there can be no ' no man's land" can come in between this time. ITs a brilliant film. Kudos to Sandeep Sawant and all the actors especially Arun Nalawasde. About his performace i really have any words to match with. Everyone must see this indigenous masterpiece.
Its indeed a great movie, a very touchy one. All the best to u for Shwaas--Oscar and all ur future ventures. U have made Maharashtrians feel proud of u!!
god bess! shwaas! its a matter of great pride ,especially 'marathi manus',that shwaas is goona for th ebig kill.it may or may not win the white mans heart ,but it hads won every "HUMANS" heart
happy to see that finally the quality films from India are making it to oscars. do u remember the objections raised when Devdas was selected for oscars? at that time too,if i remember correctly, there was a malayalam film which was much better than devdas, and which deserved to be sent to oscars... oscars means spending a lot of money, on advertising on stuff...that's why they select the films of BIG producers...who can spend the bucks. Amir Khan too had to spend a lot just to ensure that the juris see his film. hope the message given by Lagaan, that quality films CAN come from India, helps this film. half of the job is done when you make the juris see your film..that's what this film should try for...India doesn't mean the extravaganza like Devdas and bollywood must not try to project itself like that...so, sending movies like shwaas to oscars is a good trend. the government should wholeheartedly support the people behind shwaas and help them, mainly financially to make it to the Oscar of Best Foreing Film.
Good to hear that Marathi Cinema entered in Oscar. The talent can be anywhere and it is good if that will shine and people can recognise. The Indian cinema has to know the tacts to win Oscar as other foreign pictures are doing well. Then the Indian cinema can drive the Oscar in its own way.
though i have not completely seen shwaas its nice that they sent a good movie to the oscars..i felt that kamal hassan's virumandi was also a contender but then since the theme of virumandi was very vague and that of shwaas was simple and clear...i guess shwaas deserves the nod ahead of virumandi.
sorry about those bengali movies which lost out...i havenot seeen and let ur hear about them.
Cheers to Marathi movie Industry. Marathi culture is rich and people have a flair for art. Hard to find a marathi who doesn't know about music and drama. Our film industry can prosper. Unfortunately currently our artistic capabilities are confined to producing serials on Alpha Marathi and E-marathi channels rather than producing movies. We should continue making quality movies and with English traslation, we should be able to catch educated audience all over India. Bollywood produces only few quality movies a year. I have seen different regional movies. Tamil, Bengali and Malyalam are the only serious competitors in quality movies. Talentwise, we don't lack anywhere. In fact I think we are at par with the best. So, it's time we took up the gauntlet. Hope this movie wins the oscar.
