I think Manoj Shyamalan's an amazing director. i just saw the movie "The Village" in a vcd parlour, some days back. Mind ya, i went ahead for the movie, inspite of getting the news that the movie's got mixed reviews. besides some friends who'd went for the earlier shows had discarded the movie totally. The village is a sort of movie that grips you from the first frame till the last. well its the sort of movie that would want you to listen to each and every dialogue or examine each scene with close scrutiny. in short the movie stimulates your thinking centre thru out. i've seen earlier movies of M.Knight,so this was relatively easier to digest. i guess the same wouldn't apply to viewers who are exposed to this genre of movie for the first time. These days candy floss, stylish packaging, amazing special efx and of course the feel-good factor leaves the viewer satisfied. Though the village is not in the league of The sixth sense and signs. its definitely a simple, yet complex tale well told with necessary quotient of everything including romance. The climax is typical of shymalan and gives one a jolt. Good work Shymalan! You can do even better. Hats of to you!

Mr Manoj is been modest about his work ...I am sure he is much more serious movie maker than he pretends ...he seems to be in the movie rather than directing it .
