South Indian reviewing Hinid movie!!!
by vivek on Sep 11, 2004 09:10 PM

When I first saw that a southy (Patcy Nair)is the article writer...i nearly fell off my chair..of course i was sure even before reading that this movie review given will be bad...

As here in chennai, the heart of Dravidian movement with worst possible narrow mentality to other "North" indians, i can not expect better.

I request the rediff guys to put someone impartial for this kind of stuff...though i am a avid reader of your items...i and my friends really get put off if we find this kind of journalism...

I don't think its Atull, but the author of this review has long way to go ( or rather no way..haha)

This is Salman's 1st class performance and one of the best of his career. Well I really pity this Patcy Nair. How rediff.com can be such fool to take services of this novice.

Anyway thats not my pblm.
DNJAK.... is very good with rich songs.

Although publicity of the movie is not upto the mark.... what it should have been with such a good starcast and songs.
Salman needs to work at this end.... his mktg and promotion team.

Movie is really gr8 and worth watching.

Bad Review
by prasad on Sep 11, 2004 08:32 PM

This is one of the worst reviews that I have ever read on rediff. If you really short of people let me know I know couple of people who write better reviews.

I could have understood if Dil Ne Jisse .... was criticised
by rafat on Sep 11, 2004 08:28 PM

I could have understood if Dil Ne Jisse .... was criticised . Its stupid in parts but not all that bad . But I feel the review had more to do with hatred for Salman(which may have nothing to do with Rediff and may be the case with the rewier) than anything else .

I must add that its about time Rediff reviews become more objective , rather than a corny assortment os sarcasm .

to the person who reviewed it
by sk on Sep 11, 2004 08:18 PM

buddy,
you seriously need to improve the way you write. It looks like the review was written first in hindi or some local language ..i dunno and then converted word for word to english. Why dont you read some of other good reviews written on rediff ro zillions of other websites. I understand this is your first time but it shows a lot of immaturity in handling the english language.
good luck
sk

DNJAK review
by shivi on Sep 11, 2004 07:07 PM

I saw the film, I agree with most of the review, i.e. the film sucks but what the hell do you mean Bhumika has acted well. She truly majestically sucks. She is not only lightyears behind Priety but has managed to do just a little better job than Salman.
I wonder what the writer was thinking when she said Bhumika "acted well". Looks like Tere Nam was a fluke.

Bollywood hasn't learned its lessons
by Salil Wadnerkar on Sep 11, 2004 06:54 PM

There was a hope in air after Lagaan, Dil Chahta Hain, Tere Naam, etc. But Bollywood seems to have again gone back to the same formula of poorly constructed love stories. Back here in abroad, we Indians feel ashamed while watching most of these movies. After watching Shahrukh Khaan flying from a Riksha, you wonder why that movie became such a superhit and then you feel more ashamed of such standards of Indian cinema and viewers' choice. Bollywood being a biggest Cinema industry that depicts Asian culture can become a huge sucess amongst people from many Asian countries who otherwise don't have a decent domestic cinema. But I guess we will squander this opportunity also in the same way we have squandered many opportunities in trading.
