People from other religion shaking our conscious that is sleeping forever..
by Raman kaur on May 10, 2006 08:58 PM

I like this attempt. I feel pity on those who think we need to forget and forgive.
What if it happens again? Are you ready to fight this time?
Or you will say forget it, again.

The interview was good but there is a factual mistake pertaining to sikhism. Sikhism was never a sub sect of Hinduism!!
Sikhism is a religion very seperate from Hinduism and this should be realized and acknowledged by one and all.
Considering SIkhism a sub sect of Hinduism is a gross mistake that neednt be repeated
As a Sikh I dont ever want to be considered a \"sect\" of Hinduism or any other religion. Hopefully other sikhs recognize this fact as well.

Since when is Sikhism a subset/sect of Hinduism? Mr. Sashi Kumar, we truly appreciate your efforts on filming the 1984 horrific events and the aftermath on our community but please get your facts straight.

The interview with Sashi Kumar was very thought provoking. He appears very balanced like a true Hindu. I am keenly looking forward to this movie of his.

this is nothing but reviving old wound. Why not to find remedy for such horrifying incedents? This is yet onother attempt to earn cheap popularity through instigations of those who have forgotten these incidents.Reviving such things going to create terrorisms, hijakings, sabotation&what not.So why not to start with constructive ideas.

The interview was good. Shobha does a good job of it.However, as a reader, I will always have my questions.
I would like to list them and hope Mr. Kumar reads and reflects..
Mr. Kumar seems upset by the Hindu right. Does he realise that it was these forces that were a solace for the Sikhs during those terrible times? Even an inveterate Hindutva hater like Khushwant Singh acknowledges this fact.
Mr. Kumar speaks about intolerance against works of art.Is the Hindu right unique? How did the communists treat Taslima? What about Godse's play?Hindu intolerance in India is not ideological,it is because of a lack of understanding. In fact, the Right has been a lot more tolerant in this respect when compared with the left or the congress.
Mr.Kumar speaks about Buddhism. This is truly an old odd tale.History speaks of "But Shikan"...Idol Breaker..when referring to Islamic invaders. There is a scolarly debate on this subject.Maybe Mr. Kumar would like to join it?In any case..the charge of Brahminical oppression of Buddhism falls in the category of the Aryan Invasion Theory..highly debatable...I would love to see his film on that theme.
Finally, Kashmiri Hindus??? No films on them Mr.K?
