The epic

Correct me if I am wrong, but I always believed Salim, the prince in this epic story was Jahangir, the son of the great Emperor Akbar, and not Shah Jahan. At least, rediff.com should be a reliable source for such information !

to whom so ever it may concern.

the article mentions the love story of Prince Shah Jahan with Anarkali. its not SHAH JAHAN but PRINCE SALIM (OR JAHANGIR) played by Dilip Kumar.

kindly note the correction.

Don't you proofread your articles ??
by Ben on Nov 09, 2004 01:16 AM

It was a love story about Prince Jehangir (Salim) and Anarkali, definitely not about Shah Jahan ... Mumtaz is supposed to have been Shah Jahan's girl ...

Shah Jahan or Jahangir
by Eswaran Krishnan on Nov 08, 2004 09:31 PM

Looks like our writer is rewriting history. Salim is Jahangir and its his love for Anarkali which the Epic is all about. So where does Shah Jahan fit in. Agreed that Anarkali was a beauty and Shah Jahan would have given his soul to be Jahangir's shoes. But then our writer would want to consider the option of Jahangir building the Taj Mahal for Mumtaz Mahal. That's history rewritten at its best

One Error

Mughal-e-azam is Jehangir's love story and not of Shah Jahan. Such factual errors should be avoided in such large scale information dissemination.

Get your facts right. The legendary love story is of Young prince Salim (Later Emperor Jehangir) and Anarkali. Not Shah Jehan. Nobody out there proof-reads your reports, do they?

Turning Graves.

Pradeep Bandekar,
U surely made late K.Asif move in his Grave when U misquoted the article.
Such blunders aren't expected inthis professional world, especially when U urself quote the MAGNITUDE of the film's success in the past.
Cheers...
Yogi
