Saif was superb !!!!!!!!!!
by swapnil on Jul 14, 2004 11:31 AM

fine, I think after DCH , HT is one of the best movie of Saif , now he knows better that what to do ?
In earlier movies Directors and even saif was not aware of his capablities but with the time as he grows mature now he has established himself as a star.
But, in his movies comedies must be included as he is doing very spontaneous actions which makes him superb !!

HumTum is no doubt worth watching and real entertainer. But when will hindi film-makers come out of showing wrong information. I'd like to mntion only one which seemed an awful mistake. In their first meet at Amsterdam airport ( it must be Schiffol) , they told that they have only 6 hours in transit. And they start roaming all over Holland. From airport to amsterdam city takes minimum 20 min by train. Then they wnt to see Windmills ( 4 hours total tourist journey from amsterdam), went to museum also....strange???????

REFRESHING !!! AHA !!
by Krishna on Jun 10, 2004 07:15 PM

I know a few of my peers thought this movie is a sentimental parade with a different take, but I think this movie is great. Firstly it has been years since I walked out of a Hindi movie and told myself, WOW .. It is DIFFERENT.. I dont know about you but I am sick and tired of all the non sense and repeat story lines that Hindi movies come up with these days and finally a director dared to make a movie that does not 'fit' the grove. But anyway, as the review states, the casting was superb, definitely no regrets. Saif has a refreshing acting style and carries the movie almost single handedly. Rani is good but could be better. She seemed to be lost in making herself look COOL and AMERICANISED (or WESTERNISED). The is one regret that I have from the movie is that it is yet another movie where all the cast is trying to act like they have been born and raised in the US and they are just cool people (not that everyone born here is cool.. but you know what I mean).. I have a problem with Saif wearing the most trendiest clothing standing next to a rickshaw wala wearing Dhoti.I mean come on . this is India.we are from India..GET REAL..other than that.I think the movie is different and great.

This would be my Review of the movie... ;)

The story borrows a lot from the movie "when Harry Met Sally" (1989) where the same question is asked again and again "Can a man and a woman be friends?" of course with a little of the typical Bollywood masala. Such stories obviously are out of reality but are ought to be seen as 'entertainment for entertainment sake'.

Saif steals the show in the movie with a stunning performance. Rani has shown a lot of maturity while playing the role of the serious kind of girl in the latter part of the movie. Kiron Kher plays the role of Rhea's mother and has done justice to her role.

The best of the guest appearances is obviously that of Rishi Kapoor who sings the song "Main Shayar to Nahin" along with Saif. Well, the old timers never seem to lose their charm. Bacchhan junior is again back with his "I wonder what" kind of look that he has in all his other movies. Only thing is that he atleast cracks a joke with Saif in one of the scenes. About the others, i.e., Jimmy Shergill, Shehnaaz and Isha Koppikar, they are just around average.

The music is ok-ok type and does not have any dance numbers.

Superb movie but a little lengthy
by kuldeep on Jun 08, 2004 06:03 PM

I think its a great movie. Its not like typical indian romatic movies in which both the lead actors fall in love just to be seperated by their parents or by circumstances. Its also not like 'boy weeps for girl or vise-versa' kind of movie. Its a very mature story which shows that indian cinema is coming of age now.Great performances by all the lead characters e.g., Saif , Rani especially by Kiran Kher who is too good.
I think its a must watch
