congrats mr.manirathnam for attempting a complex narrative in indian mainstream films.it was encouraging to see an indian film reflecting the trend in new generation world cinema like those of tom tykwer and Alejandro González.the exploration in new narrative styles by kukunoor and manirathnam gives a hope for future indian films with increased sensibility. mani could've interweaved the stories in much complex fashion, mebbe he still has doubts on the film aesthetics of a normal indian film viewer.the care thats been taken in constructing the realities around the characters, including the usage of different stocks is commendable. the technical perfections makes the film a sensorial candy, other than the plasticity in the bridge stunt sequence and at certain instances where the frames lacked the manirathnam factor. a roller coaster after a poetic kannathil, thanx for the variety mr.manirathnam. congradulations again on your attempts.

You are simply the best MANI SIR.
by pravinder sheoran on Jun 04, 2004 12:36 PM

1. Your movies raise a current topic whether its poltics or terrorism or whatever it is.
2. Your movies are reality based then, every thing and every bit of them is reasonable
3. Eventhough you show real things yet they are totally entertaining and intresting.
4. I have nowhere seen so much passion, as is there in your movies.
5. This message is short one and can not discribe each and every beautifull thing about your movies
. But you are simply the best and yuva is the continuation of your image.

kedarnath reddy mutra
the best and only versatile director in india
by kedarnath reddy mutra on May 27, 2004 01:00 PM

i've never missed his films starting from "PALLAVI ANUPALLAVI,GHARSHANA,ANJALI,geetanjali,......SAKHI,AMRITHA,YUVA". he will have his own style of making.every film will have a new concept with perfect language and perfect way of making.after seeing yuva film i thought that he(MRatnam sir) has to select even more talented technicians to make his films.now i thought that he can able to make hollywood film. what i astonished in his films was his"deepness of thinking".i assure no one in india can think that much deep in his every film.mani sir what i wish to see a mythological& spiritual movies in his direction.

thank you for bringing the youth in parliament. an idea that needs to be practiced, you have caught the nerve of the political scenario and shown a new way to combat the problem so bluntly-kudos to you.

abhishek has never been as good-he has infused the much awaited acclaim by the audience.

wish i was part of yuva, would like to work with you in your your next project- atleast you put forth social issues in your films without pretensions.

Because I am from Public and ye sub janti hai!
