not all movies have universal appeal...but it doesn't mean that if u can't understand a certain movie..or don't have pallet for a particular one....that u go and rip someone's credibility...and hard work of two decades....
i saw the movie few days back...and frankly i didn't like the movie...but at the same time i don't agree with mr. prem panicker's review about the movie...first of all the main protagonist of the movie is abhishek bachchan and not ajay devgan.....secondly AB jr. has really impressed with his acting skills....what does mr panicker mean by saying that "abhishek has too clean an image" for the role of lallan singh...does he mean that sunjay dutt or all the other actors who play goonda or don in the movies are really goondas....
i mean...come on...man...give us all a break...just because you can write a review on rediff doesn't mean that u can write anything...coz junta has brains too....
after watching the film myself i can say only 1 thing that i am not going to beleive i nreviews anymore, the film was infact better than what ithought about.perhaps rediff needed a yuva to write a review and not ol
this is a response to the "yuva Disappoints" by rediff
Yuva may be disappointing due to the star cast but "Ayudha elzuthu" is very much promising.
madhavan(Inbha) has done a great role in this movie, his character is a very challenging to act and a very harsh in behaviour. Yet he had made superbly.
Surya is fitting the role nicely. His character is an ideal hero character.
the screenplay by mani is of the highest level, even any hollywood movie wouldnt have tried this style. i feel it is worthfull to watch this movie atleast twice in theatre rather than in vcds.
if this movie had come earlier that is before election, the percentage of voting would have rised to atleast 10%
This kind of movies will surely encourage some more educated youths to enter into politics.
jana gana mana janamkalai neenai......... hai students, Step towards politics to make this a developed country.
I do agree with the reviewer.. i am a die hard fan of maniratnam.. even though dil se was a flop i loved it for its strong characterisations...YUVA held my attention till the point of the 3 flashbacks getting over... and just when i thought now this is going to be intersting. and lets see how the story moves.. the film falss flat...instead of giving it a touch of reality, all one is treated to is mindless violence(though the action scenes are brilliant i must say) in midst of so much traffic on the bridge and jingoistic notions...i mean hello mani sir..what were you thinking of?..and esp. abhisheks character lallan comes out brilliantly but till the end where all the hard work on his charcter just falls flat..nope...yuva sizzles in the first half and raises hopes...but just fails miserably towards the end...
Yuva is total time n money waste. The movie had high expectations.... but...... How can Maniratman make such kind of a movie. But Vivek's part was a bit bearable.
One has to accept the fact that ..though YUVA is not as good as as Bombay or Roja , it is 100 times better than all the Hindi movies released in 2003-04.
Still the Music, photography, art direction and each ones acting was crisp ,refreshingly new and enjopyable. Moreover a director like ManiRatnam who takes so much effort in making a movie should only be encouraged through reviews.
Im sure Prem Paniker only knows to criticize and not accept the fact that the movie is entertaining and fast paced. The tamil version i.e.,Ayutha Ezhuthu is extremely good...
