i think the movie is a bit disc onnevcted here and there but the concept promoted by the movie is absolutely gr88.. we need such young people ytoday who believe more in the nation than in earning money for themselves. in fact i think there are lot of such people already who are absolutely disgusted with the state of affairs but have no outlet.. such movies promote sensible thinking and also brings people of similar thought process together,,
Yuva is a brilliant movie, prem panicker's review is nought, and prem panicker should stick to cricket journalism, not yellow journalism. Calcutta is known more for football, not cricket. Looks like dear prem did not like this fact. Thanks prem.
The songs are mind blowing.We are lucky that we are born in the era of A.R.Rehman.The music is uncomparable.It takes time to like the song but it's absolutely a funky one. Yuva is a great movie.Specially Bachhan's acting is same like "ANgry Young Man".And he will definitely shine.
Let me clear that though Yuva is not a 100% Maniratnam-touch film,it is 1000 times better than Bakvas!! films like K3G,Kal Ho Na Ho type films.Mani did a good job.photography and treatment to songs is excellent. A great thing is that a Tamil director shooted classically in Kolkata....
Yuva --- A good movie to watch.A must for Mani's fans. Abhishek in the movie ---Superb performanance.Credit will go for this to Maniratnam & AB as 50/50. Rehman --- Ok.Esha deol --- Don't know why is she in this good film?. Movie is good but it would have been treated better specially when director is Mani who made milestones like Roja,Bombay,Nayakan,Anjali etc....
With this audience in the North, directors like mani has to struggle a lot. Its all in the game. Hope they would change atleast by 2010. Peck on the Cheek (Kannathil Muthamital) was recognized well in abroad. Those people has got good taste.
What has been disappointing about Mani's films of late is the background score. Every critic refers to Nayakan, Mouna Ragam and Dalapathy as Mani's classics and the common factor in all these movies is the music score of Illayaraja. His background score lent life to the movie. Unfortunately, rehaman does not measure up to Raja. Raja is in a different league altogether. Maybe Mani should go back to Raja to bring back the majic of his pre-Roja movies.
