I caught Yuva the other day. It seemed very different and extremely soul-stirring. Especially the role of Ajay Devgan. He has underplayed his character and that adds the extra mileage and zing on the screen. The power of the youth and their fight to change the system radically, is very well captured. But the show stealer has to be Abhishek Bachchan. A simply outstanding performance!! Perhaps his best to date. He has really come good as an actor. The unique story line really attracted me. The coming together of 3 totally disparate individuals and their lives has been shown very cleverly. Only Mani can conjure up something like that! Agreed, the movie drags a bit here and there, but the overall product is very mouth watering. The Jana Gana Mana song is an outstanding piece. Rehman has re-discovered his Midas touch! I can't wait to see the Tamil version Aayitha Ezhuthu..... believe Madhavan and Surya have given landmark performances. Good job, Manirathnam!! We need revolutionary directors like... we've had enough of the meaningless trash that is churned out week after week on the silver screen!
