In KHNH, Preity doesnot change her look to lure Saif Or SRK. The look change is symbolic of her realising her true self and not living in denial any longer. Also, both Aman and Rohit fall in love with Naina much before she goes in for an image makeover.

Trust me .... when soemoen tales of thier specs(which is specified by the doctor) just cos the guy likes then it justifies what the author says . So KHNH is no exception.
Ma'am, Your article has voiced the true feelings of ordinary Indians who are always baffled by the strange & idiosyncratic actions of Bollywood characters. Special thanks for mentioning the very fine movie "Choti Si Baat" which has been by & large ignored by writers, journalists & movie buffs. Hats off to you for this article.
great article I agree totally!!!Husbands expect their wives to be perfect like hindi film heroins all the time......even when they themselve are not so perfect
A very fantastically written column..some of the guys are so "Filmy" That they tend to live in the film they saw and they want their girlfriends or girls around them look like one of the screen goddess.. And if you ask any guy what kind of girl you want.. everybody wants a girl resemblimg like a heroine not to mention.. The "hot" looking one.. Guys have changed the outlook towards normal and simple looking girls.. as if it's so easy to go and do a make over just like that.. Well funny! coz the least a make over charges is just a thousands of money.. or maybe lakhs.. but guys are just too innocent to realize that (Rubbish).. Don't want to be sacarstic here at all... But just want guys to change the way they think.. and please.. it's no magic that a heroine changes from eeks!! to WOW!!! from start to interval..... it takes a lot of efforts and not all girls are so great to change themselves for someone who didn't care to look at them or admire them the way they are.. Atleast not me..
this is a nice lively article. i couldn't help smiling as i read it. but cliches r not just a part of bollywood. they are very much a part of hollywood. barring a few exceptions the stories still go the same. but isnt life the same old story. and if films are a reflection of life then where do we look for newer plots?? what say???
A really good one on that. I think Sukanya has caught the right nerve.Things need to change but that does not mean the person has to change his basic look to lure a guy/girl. Always like a person for what he/she is, their character, their virtues not the clothes or the money or the look. U can buy beauty and clothes....show me a place where u can buy character.
the column is really fantastic.. and let me ver frankly it made me to realise why most of the hindi films fail these days,,, when the south indian telugu and tamil movies coming with very innovative scripts,, why cann't the hindi movies...? for how many days the bollywood would depend on the old story line,,(old whine in new bottle..)and other hollywood stories... can they ever be imaginative and innovative atleast in this new millenium,,,???? i see only Ram Gopal Varma's films are something new,, but let me very frankly we can not expect anything in his films.. they are completely different,, i really appreciate his way of thinking.. i really feel that the SRK is doing the work on the same scripts... from DDL onwards... i have not observed any different in his films,, atleast he must learn from Aamir Khan...
