i went to go see hum tum the day it opened...and i never bothered to buy advance tickets (i thought...since it wasn't a srk movie...it shouldn't be tough to get tickets). i was wrong...had to turn back cause the theater was sold out for all the shows both that day and the next. but despite that...i was happy to know that saif was bringin in such a huge crowd :) i eventually did see the movie...and it completely belonged to saif. he's definetly become hot property (speaking for the us audience at least)...and i hope he has more movies comin out soon. oh...on another note...i'm never ever going to believe so-called "critics" reviews anymore. i made the mistake of believing that yuva wasn't worth seeing (based on those silly reviews)...but i'm glad i eventually saw it. it deserves a lot of credit. i'm really sorry to know that critics can call a stupid movie like "mein prem ki diwani hoon" a masterpiece while calling "yuva" a disaster.

YUVA

It seems that people enjoy sense less movies more than realistic ones. There is nothing wrong with Yuva. Yuva movie made you think about lot of factors. But still it fails. I will definately prefer YUVA than HUM TUM.

Yeah..Why is that all the media is against Yuva.
How can you jump to conclusions so early. Please give the movie the time it deserves.

reason why kunal's first movie was a flop
by deepa on Jun 03, 2004 07:48 PM

well!!Mujse Dosti Karoge was also not a bad movie...but it just boasted a lot abt hrithik-kareena-rani combo..and kareena did the same thing what she had just done in KKKG(not that she has stopped doing that now)...so i would say due to lack of freshness, MDK was a disaster...i am happy that Hum tum is working..i liked Kunal Kohli during his "chalo cinema" days...he was a good critique then.

Yuva down because of sites like Rediff
by Ricky Chandarana on Jun 03, 2004 07:12 PM

"Apparently Mani Ratnam did not consider the second week reports before asserting that Yuva did well overseas."

No - he did consider it.
Thats why he had the meeting, to report the butchering of films by so called 'film-critics'. Yuva would have kept on doing well - if not for such stupid, uneducated and careless reviews.

No wonder, older films have done well. They were made for the people, not for the critics.

No wonder, newer films have a hard time faring. People base their vieweing preference on critics, who can these days be easily bought!
