it's very unfortunate that indian audience is yet not growing. it''s high time that we outgrow movies like humtum , and start appreciting movies which show reality and substance. Yuva has a great message and is a must see movie. thanks mani ratnam.
I would like to say at the outset that Yuva is the best movie I have seen in the past few months. It is obvious that there are strong lobbies which have good contacts with trade magazines which in turn declare a film a hit or flop.
I saw the movie in Bangalore and the crowd reaction on the first day as well in the second week was fantastic. Even in the second week the show was running full. I would like to mention that Abhishek gave a fantastic performance and I can see him in the No.1 position very soon because Shahrukh's time is up and I think the era of softie heroes is over.
i feel yuva is a great movie.the director has done a lot of homework.both the tamil and hindi versions have been shot fantastically.i feel the movie can appeal to students.nobody can actually write off the movie.bollywood seriously needs such good movies.a mani ratnam product is always a differnt one.yuva is certainly different from the regular run-of-the-mill stories.kudos to mani ratnam and all his associates.
"Trade pundits" can go to hell. They write off most good movies which even become hits! Most of these analysts are corrupt and have vested interests in promoting or junking a film otherwise how can a no brainer like Main Hoon Na be declared a hit within a day of launch and Yuva, a brilliant film with a fantastic performance from Abhishek, Rani & Om Puri be called a flop within the same time!!
The "trade analysts" are trying to influence the market by putting out stories which serve their and their bosses interests. It is well known that big film distributors and producers spent crores in promoting their films and the "trade analyst" channel is quite sought after to get an "unbiased" report of the film in the media.

Yes, I agree with Mr. Poddar.
These trade analysts (TA) are like filmstars campaigning for political parties. Some TA's openly lobby for SRK's films. To state a case, they would love to put down Aamir Khan at every available chance, but he doesn't give them many. A complete No-brainer like MHN is declared a blockbuster within 3 days. Give the audience a break please!
Analyse the trade, edit your magazines and kindly keep them to yourself. And rediff.com, we do not expect you to put up such articles. Have some class man! Get a taste! At one end, you put up such an article, and next to it u host a link to Mani's interview. It sounds like Mani is trying to plead with the industry. I am sure he will not do anything like that. The press conference must have been a routine one and you guys have turned around the whole thing giving it this perspective.
The Press, if it behaves responsibly, can effect lot of positive changes. Please stop being so biased. The trade analysts are not to be given so much of importance.

I think Rishi could not have put it any better. Yuva is a movie which is a far cry from the silly main hoon naas which the great Bachchan did with great aplomb years back.
I think unless the analysts are unbiased, the quality of the films will remain at the Main Hoon Na level which by the way is not a hit as it is being made out to be as per the latest Screen magazine news.
i do not think that yuva is a loser, infact i enjoyed the film , its better that hum tum. Its a really good cinema.i would encourage everyone to watch the movie
I dn't think that yuva is a failure...the film is at worth watching...the sript is also good and above all just see abhishek and ajay...they r just too good...I should say this film will show all trade pandits that abhishek is here to stay..
