A good Article, that was suppose to appear much earlier, but is out now.
I have seen and heard about these things. The girls who want to enter, are aware of such things surely would happen to them. And for the start they definitely experience this at the time of Audition. I heard, this 'Grab by Hungry & Get by Giving' technique gets applied while the Miss India contest also. What I see in this particular case of Madhurji, that the starlet is complaining is in wrong words. It should be 'Beimaani' instead of 'Rape'. I mean, there are officially suing rules for bevafaai also, oops I mean Beimaani also. As in this article I find it true about the black and white area of, both sides.
I agree about the gay hogs also.
Citizens should know all the four sides of the industry. A good article like this should be published more openly. Good wishes.

The article was wonderful, it just says two points.
1) How strong men (even women too) take advantage of the power they have.
2) How new - comers like to take the short - cut to success.
Even in the corporate world where I work, such culture is prevelant. I have two lady collegues, both look good. One who accepts the pass & one who doesn't. But recently it happened the lady who accepts got promoted, although she is 2 years junior to the other lady & she is a lazy worker (we all know that in our company).
I dont mind, as I have nothing to do with it, but you see what I mean & garima dont be so feminist. What prasant said is right.

This article by Deepa Gahlot is wrong.

The Film Industry is noted as an Industry where Men Don't spare Men forget women.......in such a scene it is wrong to compare the film industry with any other
industry.
In other industries, you don't have to sleep around with your bosses to get a job, while in the films
you have to do it and if the actress refuses to comply
her career is finished.
The point here is not whether the actress should say yes or No, the point is the practice of Producers and directore expecting sexual favours is wrong, and this practice should be stopped.

Stop blaming the woman. This is the reality happenening in the film industry- this woman had the guts to bring it out but in return she is the one who is taunted. Woman trying to make a name in the glamour world, have to succumb to many things unless they belong to the family of film world. I wish it works well for her in the end.

Rape or Tape
by mandira mukherjee on Jul 28, 2004 06:55 AM

Well exploitation exists in all sphere of life and hence films cannot be singled out.
The girl in question wanted some things (a role)and Madhur Bhandekar some free fun . This is more of a breach of contract case than a rape case. Whether the girl wants to win the case or it is her desperate attempt to get media attention is difficult to say.
However dirty men should also be taken to task sometimes. If a woman shows the courage then kudos to her.Whatever be the court verdict Madhur Bhandekar surely has a tarnished image!!!

Misuse of Power
by Raghavendra Udupa on Jul 28, 2004 06:39 AM  | Hide replies

This is a clear case of misuse of power from both sides. Madhu Bhandarkar, if at all he has committed the rape (he might have, but its really not a rape), has misused his power that he can make stars. And, this lady who got 'raped' is again misusing power showing the world that she was innocent and this guy pulled her in for 16 times in 5 years.

Ms. Preethi, if you are raped 16 times and for 5 years, its your problem. You knew it that there was this danger in the film world. Don't tell everyone that you were very innocent about all this. You are not a kid and defintely we are not kids to hear your story..

Pathetic
by deeps on Jul 28, 2004 02:20 AM  | Hide replies

I think what that girl did was pathetic. She thought she would gain popularity by doing this but she 'd be forgotten soon. Everyone cannot be Malaika Sherawat. malaika used media well to become what she is now. She used her sexuality well. After that every aspiring actresses have tried to use it to get popularity. However, thing shappen only once not agan n again.

Madhur might now be the best guy in the world and I am sure he had sex with this girl. But that was a deal, When a girl is ready, which guy in this world will say NO. I am sure, madhur and this girl had sexual relationship for last whatever Years but RAPE...no...he didnot rape her. It is just that the girl is frustrated and she thinks she can get all the sympathies and all by doing so.

Dear Writer ,
I read the article carefully , and well said by someone " that the Indian male's mindset is such, that he actually respects a woman who ignores a pass."

Give n take is the sad story of bollywood ,unfortunately young gals are giving up their virginty for something which is quite unsure , still they go for it, it simply portrays that talent has no place in bollywood, To get sure fame in bollywood , the young aspiring gal has to falaunt her body ....the question here arises...who are the takers"...??? The problem lies in society, sex is still considered some taboo".
I feel sorry and have great sympathy for the victim, I simpy want to tell those who want to make big in short time that , There are no short cuts to get famous in life...!!

Now whatever the result of this story,i don't care and i guess none of us should. All these things are done for media attention.May be by the director or the girl.Even girls who wanna enter bollywood can go to any extent to get a role,so lets not consider them innocent. And as far as ur specific comment on Mallika sherawat, where u say she used her sexuality well,i can only say, there are lot of bimbos around in bollywood and she is no different. As far as iam concerned there is no difference between say a Mallika,A Neha Dhupia or a Priyanka Chopra. All of them are non-actresses.
